How about our 5th (or 6th) round pick for Denarius Moore? Edit: Tweet @Panthers #6thfor@DenariusMoore. Worth a shot

Personally, I don't know of any WR that's going to be left in the 5th that is going to have better upside than Moore. Perhaps Devin Street or Cody latimer, I don't know, but they are certainly not locks to have the upside of Moore, and definitely won't have the experience to come in and make an instant impact.

Not sure where they're projected to go now, but...

Mike Davis, Shaq Evans, Robert Herron, Tevin Reese, Austin Franklin.

But I'm the kind of guy who thinks that for a position like wide receiver, almost anyone can do the job if given the shot. It's just a matter of who can show up and go through the motions versus who can be a game changer. We already know the type of player Moore is. Good, not great. Some guy in the 5th could be amazing.

I guess that a lot depends on one's definition of good vs great.  I preserve great for the special guys, so to get a good receiver in the 5th would make me smile.  Moreover, I can't rightly say that Moore can't be great, but I think that you would probably agree that he can be very good (or solid, at the very least).  Remember that Moore is just getting into his prime.  Give him some other play-makers to run with and Cam Newton to catch balls from, and Moore really could break out.  Let's say we have Smitty in the slot, (draft guy, e.g., Benjamin, Cooks, or Beckham) on one side, and Moore on the other---not to mention Olsen/B-Will---if the defenses leave Moore on an island, it will be at their own peril.  If they don't leave Moore on an island, it would still be at their own peril.

Yeah, some of the guys you mentioned may be available in round 5, and may be good (or bad or mediocre), when you can invest in Moore that you already know has been good under less than stellar circumstances? I guess the answer depends on belief, philosophy and circumstances.  Moore has that pro experience though. Offer a trade. If it works, then bring him in and let him compete for a starting spot. At the end of the day, I know that i wouldn't bet against him against the likes of McNutt, King or Ginn. But if one of those guys would win out, I can tell you that this would bode well for our receiving corps in the future. Plus, our receiving corps would have better depth than most.

I mean, obviously all of that is true, but I think wideout is probably the most easily replaceable position in football honestly. There are so many guys that can be solid and fill the role of a #2 or #3 receiver. Guys already on our roster, guys in the draft, guys buried on other rosters, free agents, etc. When watching more, he's clearly solid and could fill in as a decent #2 or #3 guy, but so can LaFell, Ginn, maybe even Hixon, etc. However, I personally don't think he's a #1 star receiver. Any one of these late round prospects COULD be. Sure, they can also be terrible, but why not take the risk? It's a 5th rounder, and at the very least, he wont play at all and we'll run with a free agent, Donald LaFell, Teddy Ginn, etc at the 2 and 3.

It's the Cam Newton complex. Cam was unproven and many labelled him as a future bust. But there was a chance that he'd be a bonafide superstar. Sure, we could've taken Patrick Peterson or AJ Green who were likely safer picks, but neither one of those guys can single handedly win championships. The difference between a Cam Newton and a Jimmy Clausen versus the difference between a Patrick Peterson and a Captain Munnerlyn is much bigger and more important, and can single handedly be the difference of a 2-14 team and a playoff team.

I'm not gonna lie, I'd trade a 5th rounder for Denarius Moore. But of course some of you already know that I've been angling to get D-Moore for months now. I've followed him, and I am completely convinced that dude's got game. He just needs a change of scenery. I would do it especially if we could get him signed for an additional year or two. I don't know why the Raiders failed to get him more involved in the flow of their offense other than being in Dennis Allen's doghouse, but I am sure that part of it had to be their lackluster QB situation.

Well, this guy, Vic Lopez who blogs about the Raiders feels that the Raiders should be happy to get a 5th for Moore. Many have the Raiders taking Sammy Watkins in the draft as well, so it makes even more sense for them to obtain picks to fill up other holes.

Moore could do wonders opening up our offense. He is a legit play-maker that has the upside at the probable relatively cheap price that G-man relishes and our cap demands. Why get some unproven project in the 5th when we could land a potential WR2 with sneaky WR1-like upside? Dave Gettleman should get on the phone with Reggie Mackenzie.

5th rounder for a one year rental?

Pass

I can't say that I blame you, but I'm still on board.  I'm certain that G-man would work out a longer term deal even after the fact. But I did allude to the fact that it would be better to sign him for an additional year or two.

We just need a guy with exceptional hands. Does he have exceptional hands? Otherwise, he's not worth the pick because we can get more value at 5 with a DB, OL, TE or OLB.

Hell, I could argue that a guy with just good hands would be an upgrade.  We need a play-maker. Not only has Moore displayed exceptional hands, he has play making ability.

Is there any kind of source to this story or just wishful thinking by a fan? I'd like us to trade for Calvin Johnson but it's not gonna happen! can we atleast have some real rumours associated with the press or atleast talk of something that's really going to happen.
