I'm not gonna lie, I'd trade a 5th rounder for Denarius Moore. But of course some of you already know that I've been angling to get D-Moore for months now. I've followed him, and I am completely convinced that dude's got game. He just needs a change of scenery.  I would do it especially if we could get him signed for an additional year or two.  I don't know why the Raiders failed to get him more involved in the flow of their offense other than being in Dennis Allen's doghouse, but I am sure that part of it had to be their lackluster QB situation.

 

Well, this guy, Vic Lopez who blogs about the Raiders feels that the Raiders should be happy to get a 5th for Moore. Many have the Raiders taking Sammy Watkins in the draft as well, so it makes even more sense for them to obtain picks to fill up other holes. 

 

Acquiring a 5th rounder would be a huge win for Reggie, and is where I see Denarius Moore’s value in the trade market. Some potential trade partners include the Cardinals, Jets, and 49ers. All three could use help at the wide receiver position, and could opt for a veteran over a rookie.

 

 

 

Moore could do wonders opening up our offense. He is a legit play-maker that has the upside at the probable relatively cheap price that G-man relishes and our cap demands. Why get some unproven project in the 5th when we could land a potential WR2 with sneaky WR1-like upside?  Dave Gettleman should get on the phone with Reggie Mackenzie.

If Tahj Boyd makes it to the 5th and we don't re-sign Anderson at QB, we'd really need that pick for him or maybe another DB. This draft is deep enough that all the picks could be beneficial and pretty valuable to the roster and keeping us under the cap.

However, it would be nice to have a contingency plan if Ginn isn't gonna be here going forward and there could be some value in Moore as a ST/KR but McNutt is probably the better choice as a possession receiver and is already on the payroll and in the system.

Just hoping Benjamin makes it to our pick, we can keep Smitty and McNutt is as good as the FO talks him up to be. Hopefully we can find another WR as well in the draft or maybe even UDFA as deep as the WR crop is.

Hope Ginn is back as our KR and I'll be happy with our receiving/ST corps.

I think it's one of those trades that wouldn't be made until we were on the clock.  I think G'man would want to see who was available.

 

But, the guy has put up solid numbers without a QB.  He has a great YPC average and a ridiculous percentage of his catches result in 1st downs.  The one concern I have is that less than 50% (46% to be specific) of his targets have resulted in catches.  I haven't watched enough Raiders games to know whether or not that was on him or the QB, but that's an awfully low percentage.  We're always harping on LaFell, but to compare the two, LaFell has converted 10% more of his targets into catches.  To compare to a guy we actually like, Greg Olsen converted 67% of his targets into catches.  Steve Smith was at 59%.

 

Before anyone mentions what an improvement Ginn made playing with Cam, I'll mention that he was converting 51.6% of his targets into catches through his career prior to coming to Carolina.  Last year, he converted 52.9% of his targets into catches.  I'm not sure if that's even a statistically relevant improvement.  It's virtually the same.

 

To compare him with other Raiders last year with enough catches to talk about...

 

Jacoby Ford - 54.2%

Andre Holmes - 50%

Rod Streater - 60%

 

46% is low, no other way to slice it.

Moore is too good of a talent to not be a regular part of the offense. He just is. Plus, he really isn't that much older than McNutt. I'm sorry dude, I hope Mcnutt plays up to his size and talent, but right now Moore > McNutt (or King), and probably Ginn as well (at least in reference to being a number 2 or 3).

Yeah, man, I'd hate to see the 49ers or the Cards get Moore on the cheap when we could have done it.  It kind of reminds me when I called for trading for josh Gordon a couple of days before he went off. Well, the rest was history.  Here we may have a good opportunity to make something happen that isn't nearly as risky, but could reap great rewards.

I'm not saying he's not better, we just haven't seen McNutt in the offense but that he at least gets reps in practice and again, looking at cap situation.

It's pretty obvious, by Get's comments that the two practice squad WRs are going to get promoted so like an earlier poster mentioned, any trade talk would probably be a draft day decision, based upon whatever happens with Ginn and the rest of our guys.

Can he return kicks? Because that would be his real value if we can't keep Ginn, that's the only way I would see a move like this.

I wouldn't say that it's obvious that both McNutt and King will definitely be promoted.  Both are definitely going to get a chance in camp, but I think G'man has made it pretty clear that no one is going to be simply handed anything as long as he's running things.  Everyone is going to have to earn their reps.

Career 7.3 yard average for punt returns.  Didn't return punts last year.  Only returned two kicks in his career for a total of 37 yards.

Hixon has been in the league since 2006 and is 29 years old (plus he'll be 30 before Moore is 26)

Moore has played since 2011 and is barely 25 years old

Personally, I don't know of any WR that's going to be left in the 5th that is going to have better upside than Moore. Perhaps Devin Street or Cody latimer, I don't know, but they are certainly not locks to have the upside of Moore, and definitely won't have the experience to come in and make an instant impact.
