Yeah man brent grimes is trash

Man, I really love when individuals on this board put words in people's mouth.

Where could you have possibly inferred that I even insinuated that small corners were bad? There is exceptions to every scenario (i.e. Steve Smith, and Wes Welker as wide receivers or Russell Wilson and Drew Brees as quarterbacks).

My personal preference is to have bigger and more physical corners  who are known to be more dominant than these smaller corners you can mention (Richard Sherman, Brandon Browner, Patrick Peterson, Joe Haden, Darrelle Revis, etc...).

You also have to beat the teams in your division. It HAS become a passing league. Our division has Colston, Jackson, White, Jones, Graham, etc.

There's a legitimate need for guys who can contest the jump balls and be physical at the LOS with the bigger guys to disrupt the timing of the routes and plays.

I'm not saying I want all big guys, but the FACT remains that we share a division with good QB's and tall receivers.

Don't accuse me of basing my opinions off of ESPN, you don't have a clue about how I form my judgements.

You dont win a SB with a heavy passing game but the league is pass heavy today. With that said, the "slot" wr is more important and plays a bigger role than a "tall" wr. What defenses are doing to these tall wrs is by putting a safety on top and let him light them up. See Kam Chancellor and Mike Mitchell? What happened when Roddy White played us this past season? He learned that we had a guy named Mitchell that likes to light it up in the secondary.

Verrett is BPA if availabe at 28 considering other players are not there. The kid is 5'10" (shoe) and was 3rd in the vertical jump at the combine tying with McGill (6'3). He was only 2.5 in. under SJB who is also 6'3. He should be more than capable of playing the outside which he showed at TCU. In a bad world, he cant so has to play nickle. Now, you have a talented corner that will shut all the short passing game vs. guys like Boldin, Tavon, Harvin, Welker, Bey Bey Thomas, Edelman, Cobb, Cruz, etc. Verrett is the full package without the height.

I know exaclty how you for your judgments. You know Im right about that. Dont play it off.

I sure as hell know my stuffs, so dont question me. You're throwing craps on the wall hoping something will stick.

If you dislike a part of Verrett's game, I would have no problem with it. But, to not know anything about the kid and just assume hes another midget corner is ridiculous.

So, Im guessing since Verrett is small that hes not physical? Id have to go rewatch his cut ups bc I clearly thought he along with Dennard, Roby, and Joyner were the most physical corners in this class.

Ive been keeping up with Verrett for two years now. The kid has evolved his game to who he is today. He can play both the zone and press.

I have not been able to keep up with Fuller much, but heard good things on him. Watched some cut ups of him and I see a 2nd round guy. He didnt really help himself much at the combine which imo solidify him as a 2nd rounder.

Again, no one is saying that we are trying to mold our defense to Seattle. Like I said above, please dont fall victim to the media. Teams dont build their team the next year by what the previous SB team did.

Fans ignore the fact that Browner and Sherman are just talented corners. It's not bc of their size. Earl Thomas is also the heart and soul, the LUKE KUECHLY of that defense. If you want to be Seattle that bad, here's your chance: sign Browner even with the 4 gms suspension. SJB, McGill, Fuller, etc are not Sherman or Browner.

I haven't fallen victim to the media at all... individuals that put stock into the bench press and vertical jump at the combine over pure skill and ultimately intelligence are the one's that have fallen victim to the media. Times of how fast you can run and how far you can jump have nothing to do with making plays on the football field; they are simply a gauge of how athletic a player is. Nonetheless, you can have a super athletic player that lacks skill and they won't see the field.

You might not be aware buy Ky grew up with brother that played wide receiver. When you look at some cut-up's of his film you can see a guy that clearly has benefited from having a brother (Corey) that he was able to match up with every day. A lot of times Kyle will actually run a better route than the intended receiver. Ky also plays the run really well and gets off blocks better than just about any corner in the draft.

Side Note: Kyle was also out with an injury for a lot of this past year which is why his stock isn't as high as it should be. Not to mention the corner crop is actually pretty solid this year with guys like Gilbert and Dennard.

He is one of the smartest players

Once again never said he wasn't physical.. but it's a predominant (and accurate) assumption that the bigger corners tend to be the more physical corners.

Verrett didnt just all of a sudden rise after the combine. Ive been high of him since last year and mentioned his name on more than one occasion. My very mock of the 2013 season had Verrett and now have gone back to him with my most recent one.

I like Fuller but Im just not in love with him. You really need to go back and watch cutups of both guys and let me know what you see. I see a 1st round talent in Verrett and 2nd rounder in Fuller. Some wont disagree with me but Fuller almost seem like he could play safety in the NFL. Thats not a knock on him.

Theres only two tall corners who are actually physical in the NFL today.

You guys really need to tell me who these are tall corners are bc I cant figure it out.

Just a few notes from JV's highlights...

He's a really good player but his obvious lack of height and length (which will get exposed in the NFL, unless he plays off-coverage) is a concern. His tackling ability is also a huge concern, he stands up when he tackles and usually hits up high. A guy at 5'9 is not going to be able to bring down 6'3 wide receivers by hitting them up high, it's just not going to happen. He also doesn't have that great of a backpedal and that's seen when he comes out of the backpedal way to early (side note: one of Fuller's strengths is his back pedal). Also stat wise, a lot of his interceptions came off really poor throws. If you look at Fuller's highlight rig you actually see how smart he is... he's running routes and then making plays on the ball better than the receivers.

In my opinion, Fuller's only negatives is tendency to struggle in zone coverage (which can be taught), his over-aggresiveness (which isn't always a bad thing, and the fact that he isn't an elite athlete; however makes up for that by being a super smart player.
