Need Camera Recommendation

I want to upgrade my digital camera- Ive currently got a 10 year old Nikkon coolpix camera- I also have a Canon AE 1 program that uses ( gasp) film and I used to do hobby type photography with it back in the day.

 

My money limit is really set at about $ 300 - and I think I have it narrowed down to the Canon G 15 or a Panasonic DMC LF 1.  I am old school and like the fact that both these models sport viewfinders - I dont know if I will ever get fully comfortable with solely using a screen to frame shots.  So of these two which would you guys pic or would you go another route ?  I can get either of these at BH camera or adorama right at my price point.  I dont expect I will ever get back into heavy hobby photography so dont want to even attempt the SLR type - not that I can afford it anyway.
