Captain Munnerlyn has more TD's than Jimmy Clausen. I hope Captain comes back.

The captain is like having 100mb download speeds.  It's nice to have, but then you realize it cost too much and you could live with 20mb.  I would love to keep him but feel like we can get another cornerback either FA, on the team or rookie and not have a major drop off.  Not saying it won't be a dropoff but it won't be as big as lets say Clausen to Newton.

Captain really doesnt have much value on the market so we can prolly bring him back on the cheap. Id really like to keep him. No hes not a starting corner with elite cover skills, but he does literally everything else a defensive player does and does it well. Good slot coverage, good pass rusher, good on special teams, good tackler, and hes dangerous when the ball gets in his hands.

Well yea his value per where he was drafted is damn good but he a slot corner/ST.

 

He thinks he is a #1 corner but really he should be paid like a #3/4 corner and a low value one at that(mainly due to his size).

 

He will probably be resigned but it will come after he tests FA and realizes he will not be getting a big contract.

I love the way he plays it's just his size betrays him even when he is in good position.

 

If he was even 5'11 it'd be crazy to see how he'd look.

What would be fair compensation for Captain? I have to say the little guy has earned a decent pay day. Nothing over bearing to the cap but enough to say -"we appreciate your talents, here buy yourself some nice sneakers kiddo."

How is it that basically our entire defensive backfield is late-rounders, UDFA and castoffs playing prove-it contracts and we still have the #2 defense in a passing league?

I do want Mitchell back though, guy can get it done regardless of the situation. We just need some quick 4.3 guys who can make a basic tackle and we should be on par from last season as long as our offense doesn't take too much of a step back.

I'm thinking our running backs are finally gonna be fully healthy and will be able to rank among the league's best as far as rushing attack goes. Would it be too much to ask that our RB corps plays up to its paycheck? Man that would be sweet and we'd all be doing the bash brothers dance again.
