Interesting read about trading for Morris Claibourne

from my understanding the Cowboys play a defense that does not bring out his talents. I think it's more of a zone and he's a man kind of player.

i'm not quite sure though, and if that is the case, he wouldn't excel here i don't think. Although Rivera seems to be the kind of coach that would put in extra work with him.

I wish I knew more about it.  He would not be the first high-profile DB to underperform in Dallas.  And that is a great point about RR and I will add the rest of the defensive staff--they made our DBs look legit.  Our best DBs, Mitchell (considered a bust in Oakland) and Captain (did not get any serious offers in free agency) were the product of some free agency bottom feeding.  They might not know what to do with a thoroughbred.

Probably wouldn't take this deal, just because of the contract, but would be intriguing.

I would assume that DG would sit down with RR and McD, and ask them if they could coach him up before pulling the trigger.  If they see talent, I would have no issue with it.

I'd trade a 4th in a heartbeat and extend him with a friendly contract based on performance.

This is what I was thinking as well, we all know his contract would have to be reworked or tweaked because he isn't worth the money he is making thus far.

It may take multiple late round picks if Dallas was serious about moving him like a 4th this year and a 5th next year...some team may offer a 3rd though so who knows.

I could see that, honestly. It's probably the most reactionary position in the NFL and if you get caught over-thinking you'll make a mistake.

That's not to say you don't have to know your opponent, route concepts, tendencies, etc, but I get it.

Agree 100%!

a change of environment is what some need, aka mike mitchell. imagine the skills he posseses with a proper pass rush and proper coaching.

Mitchell was just under appreciated and poorly evaluated by the raiders. When he played us in '12 filling in for an injury he did more damage to us than the rest of the raiders d combined. He was also the guy getting in our heads. Hes the one that got cam to snap at jerome boger.
