Steve is notorious for fighting with teammates.

Just Google Steve Smith fights with teammates.

I course he is a guy you want to be on your side but damn why should the whole team have to walk on eggshells around him when there is only one player wearin a red jersey in practice. It causes rifts within the team when you've got the Offense vs the defense on opposite sides of the locker room all because of one guy.

Now we have a group where Luke, Cam and Greg are all best buddies and bringing it all together, along with being the future and face of the franchise, with level-headed guys like TD and CJ as veteran leaders to bring them along:..and wtf, you throw a firecracker in the middle of it all in Smitty and of course he is going to be the odd man out when money comes into play.

Smitty is the m-f'n #1 all-time Panther badass and no one can ever take that away from him. He's a warrior, no doubt. But it's time to bring in a new era.

It has some to do with diminished production, but it's mainly locker room and his option bonus.

As you note, the part about diminished production has to be taken in context of the locker room and the option bonus.  If Smith had an all-pro year last year and was in his prime the locker room issues and money would be secondary and the team would likely tolerate the issues because he was so productive.  But when you see he is starting to decline, there are locker room issues and he will cost more money and cap hit going forward, it is much easier to decide to move on if he won't make concessions.

Are you really naive enough to believe that players tell you half of what goes on behind closed doors.  You think they aren't coached to tell you the same old non-issue discussions.  Do you think anyone would talk negatively about Smith while he still in the locker room and on the team to the media ?   Did players and staff talk about Chud that negatively before he left?  Or did they feel more free to tell things once he left for Cleveland.

Think about it for a minute, would Cam say anything negatively about Smith? If he did would people think that this shows maturity or is another example of Cam's poor leadership. What would happen if a player who is trying to exert his leadership is saying negative things in the press about a player who is very influential in the locker room.

Problems are discussed in private not public.  If there were problems with Smitty you surely wouldn't hear about it in an interview unless it were being thrown out there by an unnamed team source as part of a bigger discussion about the team as a whole which is exactly what happened.

Why would team officials say this was a big problem if it wasn't??  And there are now 2 sources specifically saying it is.

I applaud you for trying at least as some of the people you are responding to can't formulate coherent sentences, so I doubt they can understand one.

It's like you said though, it's not about what is right or wrong or proven/unproven. It's about what some of these people want to be correct or true.

It's also clear more than a few are incapable of thinking for themselves.

For example, the idea that what a player says publicly is always true or the letter of the law is pretty laughable.

Obviously your  are the idiot that hasn't been in the locker room.  Sorenson has talked with players and been in the locker room for a decade.  Voth just got done talking to several team officials who all said leadership issues where a big issue.  As I told you yesterday it is common knowledge that Jake was canned in part because of overshadowing Moore.  What you are too stupid to realize is that when players are guaranteed their salary like Jake was in 2010 and Smitty is this year, if they are still cut it is because the team feels that cutting them is necessary and locker room issues are often a major factor.

What makes you think you know more that folks who are paid to cover the Panthers for a living?  You have no clue what you are talking about so why not stick to things you  know about unless that would prohibit you from ever posting.

You make very valid points but your approach is way over the top with smugness and condescension.
