Smitty meets with Gettleman today

I also don't think it's fair to throw out his low numbers from his year as if that definitively means he's done. We had one of the bottom ranked offenses in the league. Nobody had gaudy numbers in that offense. So let's please stop with that.

So would you agree that we need to go in a different direction? Our #1 receiver is 35 years old and 5'9". How do we compete against the teams in our own division with a receiving core like this? Answer: we don't. No nfl team fears our passing game,

We should have brought someone in to take the weight off his shoulders, and replace him as the #1 years ago.

Obviously I agree that we need another playmaker, but the goal is to keep surrounding our franchise quarterback with weapons to sustain success, not take away the only good ones he has. I mean there were people bitching about how much money Olsen is making, just what do some of these people think this is? It's real life, not Madden. You have to pay for talent, and production.

We did win the division sir. Great accomplishment and well deserved. But it was not due to having a dominating "deep ball" passing game. And you have to admit: the NFC south was down this year. Atlanta was without Julio and the buc's were in shambles. New Orleans was our only competition and we barely squeaked by them. Please don't count on the NFC south being this soft again.

We all want Smitty to stay, but the question is not, "Will Smitty play #1 WR in 2014?" it has to start being "Can Smitty play #1 WR in 2014?"  The other question deals with his skill set.  He would be a beast in the slot.

I hope he takes a pay cut.  I think it is the only way he stays.

People lie, number don't. 750 yards receiving & 4 touch downs does not equal 7 million dollars...period.

Take a major pay cut & move to the slot is the only acceptable scenario.

So it's all Smith? Nothing to do with Cam, Shula, Olsen, Ginn?

Smith is 1 year removed from a 1k yard season. While I'm not saying he shouldn't restructure to help the team that has bent over backwards for him it's just stupid to think he's not capable of being a dominant WR anymore.

Smith is being a complete diva & acting like a butthurt girl.

There was no reason for them to meet & "clear the air." I'm glad Cam didn't throw a temper tantrum when Gettleman's words were taken out of context.
