Well that didn't take long, unfortunately I don't think the above post is sarcasm.

Don't ya just love the Smitty haters?

And before the Smitty haters go all, "I don't hate Smitty" and then follow it up with a bunch of asinine drivel that amounts to mindnumbing douchebaggery, let me just say that without a shadow of a doubt......

Haters gon Hate.

Let me start by saying this...I love Steve smith and I appreciate everything that he has done for the panthers. Now...the TRUTH...he is an absolute diva, he is ultra sensitive to any comment about him that has any perceived negative tone - even constructive criticism, he is a proven bully even in his own locker room. He is set to make 7 million dollars this year: he had 750 yards and 4 touchdowns. Yes, it is time to say goodbye to steve smith the drama queen. It is time for other leaders (cam & luke) to take control of this the locker room without having to worry about pissing Steve smith off. Every dog has his day...Steve has had his. He needs to ride off in the sunset without causing a big damn scene. Dave gettleman's comments were spot on. He said smith would be evaluated right? Just like every player. Steve smith took offense to these comments like he's above evaluation...no he isn't. And we now have a GM that gets it. At the end of the day steve smith is 1 of 53 players on our ball team....nothing more, nothing less. If he thinks he's above being evaluated as a player...goodbye!

If Cam and Luke can't take on leadership roles because they are afraid of a 5'9 WR then they need a nut check.

Good. I hope Gman informed him that his production is not up to par with the money he's making. Agent 89 have been compensated well enough for his production. It's time for him to help this team out money wise. Carolina is his best chance to win a SB before he retire. Take a pay cut and let Gman bring in help.

No, we just hate the people who call everyone "haters" when anything questionable is said about a player. It is very sophmorish to say the least.

Would love to see Smith stay and become that slot WR that he really wants to be. But, the plain and simple truth is that his numbers and performance are not comensurate with $7m a season...especially with the cap hell WR are in and with zero at LT and CB.

I just think SS89's spot as the #1 WR is up for evaluation. not whether or not he'll remain on the team.      I think the front office may be coming to terms with him needing to be in the slot now...

In which case, I hope Gman gets a #1 WR this off-season and not just re-sign Ginn and promote Ginn to #1.

Sounds like you could use a reality check.

Are you kidding?

The notion that Smith is dominating the locker room in place of Cam and Luke is BS. That never stopped Beason or TD from leading the team. Smith is the Carolina Panthers because we made him that way. No one has been as good as Smith's level on the field for the majority of his career.  It's not his fault we didn't draft a  franchise QB earlier than we should have.

This is about money not leadership. The team always responds well to Steve Smith and he gives the team spark.
