Look at Jake Long's contract he signed with the Ram's where the first season cap hit was 4.25 and the second season cap hit is 9.25

Monroe graded out as PFF's No. 10 left tackle in the league last season.

There not going to be able to bring back Ginn, Mitchell and Munnerlyn even if they don't make this move. They need a solid LT no matter what though and that trumps bringing those guys back. A mid level guy is going to cost the same in year 1 compared to a solid-good LT if you do the contract right and feature bonus money. Only difference is the rest of the years on the contract. 

 

As for the moves, restructure Johnson, cut Godfrey and you have 10-11 million in space right there which gives the Panthers a total of 16 million to make moves and sign draft picks.

I was basically saying it would be unlikely for all three to be back regardless of a move made to sure up the LT spot. Mitchell is probably #2 with Ginn Jr. being #3 and Munnerlyn being #4 on importance. LT is the highest importance right now because they absolutely have to find a replacement for Gross.

If we do end up signing him then all we need to do is draft a rt in the second and our line goes from looking weak to pretty good.

Just like how we turned DT from glaring weakness into a force last season.

If they sign him or an established LT starter -- it's gonna give us more wiggle room in the draft. Personally, I hope they sign one of the marquee OTs over a guy like Nicks.
