Jon Beason: Would we have been better off?

You're putting too much importance on an ILB in the 4-3. ILB's weakness can be masked by forcing teams to rush outside with good DTs. No team is giving up their franchise LT for an ILB. ILBs are sometimes rendered useless when teams throw the ball a lot. Like the first Saints game. Keuchly was getting burned left and right by Graham. Keuchly had to turn around to find out where graham was: in the endzone  . In the second game the rain forced the Saints to keep the ball on the ground thus Keuchly excelled. In this modern passing offenses ILBs aren't that valuable. 4 OT will be selected before we have a chance to get one. They're highly valuable commodity.

Keuchly is more than just an inside linebacker. He's a playmaker. Forget about his position. The guy makes plays that win games. Big time plays.

The core is now. It's not like we can't draft a starting caliber LT now. It's the same as drafting Beason and then drafting Riley reiff just a couple years later. We have a core that are about to hit their prime. Perfect timing with two superstars on both sides of the ball.

So you are using one game as a basis for your argument. That is smart.  :thumbsd:

The MLB is more important than you are saying. The MLB is the leader of the defense, calling out scheme changes, and making calls on the fly. This is one of the areas in which Keek excels. Keek is above average in coverage, and any oth JAG MLB would be a significant downgrade. I am not sure why this is even a discussion.

The ROTY and DPOTY in exchange for a JAG OT and a player who is past his prime, and may not play for more than 1 or two more years, if that long. And no matter how you spin it, that is exactly what you are saying. You keep saying that it is not a player for player comparison, but even in your title, that is exactly what you are talking about.

TL:DR - You are still talking out of both sides of your mouth, and neither part makes sense.

jimmy graham is the best pass catching tight end in football and is going to roast any middle linebacker he gets singled up against.  it's more akin to lining up kuechly against a big wide receiver.  that's just how it is.

also learn to spell his fuging name right.  it's not "keuchly"

Common spelling? Pardonne moi!

Seriously....make this retarded ass thread go away.

What are you, a little baby or something? Asking a thread to go away because someone might be mean to your hero. How pathetic! Maybe you should stay away from this thread and go get your diaper changed.

I do not think we would have been better off keeping Beason and drafting the Jacksonville LT.    Trying to justify your argument by saying Kuechly isn't worth it because he got burned by Jimmy "i should be paid as a WR" Graham is a stretch.  That is the same as saying look at Cam against the seahawks defense.  We would be better if we just kept Jimmy Clausen and drafted a LT.

yeah lmao I got a warning point a while back for saying someone was the best black quarterback

Why would you say something like that when people don't say similar things in regard to other positions? The mode of thinking of some people is malicious for no apparent reason, and even if it doesn't make sense. Don't you realize the NFL is going through another metamorphosis by a generation of kids who were born in the 90s. And they don't give a damn about statements like this, unlike prior generations. That statement can have such a different significance in the next 5 years. So, brace yourself; it can get painful.

This thread is beyond retarded.

Luke is being seriously underrated and Reiff and Beason overrated in this discussion of yours. While Reiff finally shook some bust murmurs he is far from a franchise LT yet. You want to be mad about passing on Oline talent, be mad about passing on Cordy Glenn or Larry Warford in rounds 2 of 2012 and 2013.

Reiff has nothing to do with Staffords yards either, they are pass happy and their record is indicative of a team that needs to run more. God forbid Dan Connor has to start at MLB again and you'll see how valuable Keek is, real quick.

Reiff barely even played as a rookie, a little RT but mostly as a TE, Beason was MIA. That would have sucked in 2012.

Never even thought of it from that angle.   Good point.

    • Bryce put it in a spot only his guy could get it only for David Moore to drop it. T_T Tremble and Horn both struggled yesterday and that killed me since they're two of my favourite players. Tommy knows he has to come down with this one. Folks were understandably saying that JT would've caught that had he not gotten hurt a few plays earlier. The more I look at this play, the more I think that Bryce made the right decision throwing it out the back of the endzone. He could have tried to laser it in to Thielen, but that safety is lurking awfully close inside. Insuring the field goal here after a 44sec drive to end the half was the right move.
    • Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it
    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
