Jon Beason: Would we have been better off?

I have an idea! How about we see how this all plays out with Gman before we play the coulda, woulda, shoulda game!

Truth be known, most of you act like an aging Jordan Gross is impossible to replace. He was good, but several years removed from great! His quote about holding off his retirement spoke volumes! Am I the only one that remembers the Ginn signing being viewed around here as the end of the world? This is gonna be fun to see how he handles this

This is the Jon Beason versus Luke Kuechly thread...

All personal achievements for Keuchly and his family. I'm happy for him but doesn't exactly mean SBs for the panthers organization. We're in a perpetual rebuilding mode and contracts(including Keuchly's) is coming up. We could be going into this off season in search of only a franchise WR and some secondary help. Now we need a franchise LT, WR, and secondary. That's it very hard to get in one off season with no money and drafting bottom of the draft.

Digging up from page 9. How many playoff games did the Lions and Giants play in this year? How many division championships have those 4500 yards win? How many January tackles for loss did Beason get?

The point is we're a better team now that we would be if we had your scenario.

    • Bryce put it in a spot only his guy could get it only for David Moore to drop it. T_T Tremble and Horn both struggled yesterday and that killed me since they're two of my favourite players. Tommy knows he has to come down with this one. Folks were understandably saying that JT would've caught that had he not gotten hurt a few plays earlier. The more I look at this play, the more I think that Bryce made the right decision throwing it out the back of the endzone. He could have tried to laser it in to Thielen, but that safety is lurking awfully close inside. Insuring the field goal here after a 44sec drive to end the half was the right move.
    • Except Bryce was the main reason we were in it
    • NFL Pro has the All-22 up already 😄 Going to grab a play or two from each redzone series to put screenshots to. Looks like AT angled his route off to the near pylon rather than the back corner where Bryce was throwing to. I imagine this is something they'll quickly try to figure out with Thielen back from IR. After watching the All-22 again, this was actually a pretty nifty play. I thought it was a TE screen to Tremble because of the way XL charged the DB, but he quickly shed and kept upfield as seen in the second screenshot. This looks like it had multiple layers built into it with AT running the crosser, XL the fade, Tremble to the flat. The progression would call for the play to go to Chuba here as the LB does follow Tremble out into the flat. Ball hits Chuba low and in the hands, but the LB does a good job disrupting the catch.
