Should the Panthers let Captain Munnerlyn walk?

I didn't like him prior to this season, he played poorly in the first 4-5 games, turned it on mid-way throught the season. He hasn't shown consistency and was a constant to get burned over and over in the past. Let him go or sign him for cheap. The Raiders are interested.

I'm sorry what?!...Cap plays cornerback so I'm not really understanding the pairing him w/ offensive players logic. I think you may be thinking of another player lol

I posted it on the wrong thread.  It was a debate about getting Sidney Rice after getting cut by Seattle.

OIC! Well in tht case, ew! I want no parts of Rice..the only wr I'd like them to go after is Nicks or Maclin if we were absolutely desperate but he's staying in Philly.

His market value will determine that. He should strictly be a PT player, we will not pay him starter CB money.

That is the problem.  If Carolina negotiates with him, they have to do so as a starting CB.  His agent's next move is to bring in comparables to other starting CBs and I imagine the salary discussions would probably start in the $4-5 million range (wild guess).

I love him as a nickel.

Out of curosity, what do people think about Melvin White?  That could play into the equation.  I have mixed emotions about him, but I am not sure they are justified.

I think Melvin is a project. Certain looks and schemes he played well but was not very good in others. I think it is possible he will be ready next year but who knows.

I am not as impressed with how our young CBs are coached up as other positions.
