Bobcats Sign 7 Footer Justin Hamilton

Pretty ordinary name for a Croatian dude.  Sounds like a weak 7 footer who shoots to many outside shots to me I really don't like the european style of play at the 4 spot considering we already have a stretch 4 that can't shoot.  First Mullens, then McRoberts, now this guy.   Yes you want a guy to hit a 15 to 20 footer relatively consistently, but not a guy that gets easily rooted out of the post and has no put back strength.

The NBA's high priest of lineup data was the first person to point this out to me, in 2009; Wayne Winston's theory of NBA lineups is basically if you play two or more guys who can't shoot, the lineup is very likely to perform poorly, even if it's loaded with good players. More recently Winston looked up lineups with four shooters, and found they were almost all excellent.

And that's against any and all defenses.

Related:

A few years ago Dwight Howard and a bunch of otherwise unremarkable 3-point shooters had one of the best offenses in recent NBA history.

The Warriors' playoff run only took off when an injury to David Lee forced them to start four 3-point shooters.

The Heat haven't lost a playoff series since they adopted a strategy of playing 3-point shooters with their superstars.

you need guys who can shoot. Read the excerpt I posted from "live by the 3, or die"

7 foot and only 9 rebounds in the D league?!?!?!? He must be soft.

That would make him the league's second-highest rebounder (since Dedmon has also been called up), there just aren't a lot of rebounds there. He also has twice the sample size (37 games) that Dedmon has (15), and also has a sizeable advantage on Howell (20).

He CAN shoot threes, but he's no Mullens. He only shoots two per game. Most of his damage is from underneath the basket. He's also eighth in D-League scoring. Pretty nice pickup.

    • It didn’t feel like we’re the Bills bc we’re not a consistent conference contender yet we’re a rebuilding team. But with the game on the line we played just like the Bills went straight down the field and scored a tuddy then converted a 2pt conversion I have to give credit where credit is due. And the chiefs played us like we were the Bills in an AFC championship game, drive down the field and kicked a walk off FG to win at the end very similar to me. Are saying our defense stunk yesterday? Vs an elite offense team with elite coaching an elite QB man idk what you want them to do. KC does these things to the best defenses in the league consistently to win AFC chips and Super Bowls let’s not devalue who they are. I saw us play KC to the wire and barely lose defense did its thing as much as it could. Bingo!!! We’re also forgetting how injured we’ve been defensively this year, yes we need to build up the D but adding a few pieces and D Browns successful rehab should make us a very strong unit again. Couple that with the offense we saw yesterday and we’re winning our division.
    • Canales deserves a lot of credit. I'm very pleased. He's definitely making strides with Bryce. I also think some of his lack of commitment to Bryce as the starter is to motivate Bryce. I think he liked what he saw when Bryce was benched.  Even the Defense looks tremendously better with just a couple more pieces getting healthy. Wonnum has made our pass rush viable again.  I would love to see this team with one more good player across the defensive front, DT or an edge rusher.
    • I didn’t see any limitations yesterday
