Nope.

57% completion, 18 Td, 27 Int, 7 fumbles

Feel free to name a QB who played worse last season.

Gabbert? Ponder? Geno?

Gabbert only played 3 games last year.

Ponder completed 64% of his passes, which is 7% better than Eli, & he had a much better TD-t/o ratio.

I'll give you Geno, he sucked.

Point remains, Steve played with a Pro Bowler last year & Hakeem played with one of the absolute worst QBs in the league. And their production was very similar.

Only an idiot would rather have Smith going forward. It has nothing to do with Steve's past. Him being the greatest panther isn't gonna win games going forward.

A big, physical 26yo with elite WR skills would.

So if he is so valuable. Why are the Giants letting him walk?  I must be missing something.  Go ahead say Victor Cruz.

They rate the kid Randle above him now and his production of three tds in two years isnt attractive, but manning....but there oline....but the New York weather.... but he likes Charlotte... Seriously give it a rest already.

My point everyone wants to think he is going to be a savior and that may or may not be the case.   He clearly isn't in the same league as Smitty is.  Not even close.

Though Smitty might only have a year or two left if I had to choose I would keep Smitty around before I took HIcks over him.

Steve Smith puts up Brandon LaFell production with a Top 10 WR cap hit....

Only a Panther Homer would pick him over Nicks. Go to the other 31 board & they'll all laugh & say Nicks.

Umm... No. The only advantage Nicks has is age. The ONLY reason he's so popular around here is because of all the UNC homers.

Yes, poor Haakem Nicks had to play with a two time Super Bowl champion behind center.

Meanwhile, in the midst of a losing season, he's telling the media how he is still one of the top receivers in the NFL, missing team meetings, and had zero touchdowns. What a great player. Obviously none of that was his fault, but because of everyone else around him instead.

Funny because I've actually pondered this very scenario. (Losing Smith and signing Nicks that is) & I've been on the bring Nicks home train since watching him back in 2011, tbh. But even w/ that being said there is no way in hell I would be happy w/ losing Smith in order to get him. Ecsp after the last 2 questionable seasons he's had. Don't get me wrong having him here would be amazing because i believe all he needs is a change if scenery to get back on track. But I think Smith would play a big prt in tht. He says he grew up watching & admiring Smith & idet HE would say he's the better wr.
