thankful some here know in hes not top 2, 5 or 7 paid kicker. hes 9th.

 

 

gano gave up a total of 374 yards on kickoffs( entire year, i believe lead the league), the opponents had a average start of 19.7!!! since some here are terrible at math and facts, thats better than a touch-back.

 

he was 6 for 6 in 50/+, no other with more than 3 along had a perfect ratio. 

 

ive heard kickoff returners talk about the amount of hate they had for gano. gano basically rob returners form making money, cause they are mostly useless. some would bring out the kickoff even if it was within 1inch form going out the back. hence the 19.7 average above as a result of this. 

 

lastly and most important, hes young and getting BETTER!

Yeah, at a little less than what we locked Gano up for each year of his four. I'm glad he's back. Looks like Gettleman is marking off his list.

Top 10 yeah but not top 5. Don't get me wrong. I love the signing but giving that much money to an unprovenn player at a position that is so mental scares me. It's different than say Mike Mitchell or Tedd Ginn who exploded here. This is a position where all the talent in the world doesn't mean squat if you don't have it 100% together between the ears.(see Mason Crosby)

People forget how we got this sudden top 5 kicker in the game. That's because Washington dropped him. Because he was Olindo Mare bad for them. I hope he's past that because it makes the team better but I will never feel comfortable giving 4 million dollars a year to a guy who's job is 80% mental.

 

Agreed bro, if Gano sucks next year it's gonna be hard to swallow the $20 cap hit we'll have to absorb if we cut him on that monster $12 million deal.
