If you think $12.4mil over 4 years is a lot, then you're not really paying attention. As an average salary of $3.1mil a year, he ranks 9th in the league. He's without a doubt a top 9 kicker in the league right now.

I liked Gano as soon as he signed with us in 2012, but that was probably due to not being named Mare or Medlock.

I remember early in his career he would choke in pressure situations. But it seems he's able to calm himself now and get the job done. Good signing. He probably has one of the top three strongest legs in the NFL.

This was not getting the attention it deserves, but having a guy who could score from 55yards out, kick it out of the endzone, who was pretty accurate is a nice signing.
