Kelvin Benjamin loves the panthers

Not sure if you've watched these already but if not do it and make your own conclusion. So many of you will spend an hour reading on what these "scouts" say about these guys when you can just watch their cut-ups yourself.

I like Robinson more than most. I love his leaping ability, his agility for his size and his ability to come down with a jump ball. There's times where he has his man beat deep and the QB just misses him.

Robinson tested well in other areas, he had a 39" vert, 10'7" broad and his 11.36 in the 60 yard shuttle was one of the better times out of the WR's.

I think Robinson can become a Boldin type reciever.

I must admit that I had not watched a whole lot of Robinson like some of the others, but I looked at three of the clips (OSU, NEB and WIS), He looks solid. I still don't believe he is worth a first rounder, because I just don't know if he is WR1 material.  His game speed looks better than the Combine's, though no one is going to mistake him for a speedster by any means. In my opinion he isn't as explosive as Beckham or Cooks, and Benjamin would be a better fit for the long ball and most certainly the red zone. He appears to be more of a play-maker than either LaFell or Hixon, but I guess we'll find out if that's true when he goes up against NFL defensive backs.

Boldin? Perhaps. That's kind of funny because I read somewhere that Devin Street could be another Boldin. Perhaps Allen would be able to do more after the catch than Boldin (that OSU catch was unbelievable), but Boldin is about as tough as they come.  We'll see. From what I viewed, Robinson may be a sneaky shifty possession receiver in the NFL, but doesn't have the extra gears to be that home run threat.  He also needs to stop reversing field, as this probably won't work for him in the pros.

Just my opinion.  I can see the kid being an efficient, if not B-list receiver in the pros if put into the right circumstances.  I am sure Cam could hit him on some of those missed throws.

Robinson did not earn that first round grade during the Combine, indeed his stock probably took a tumble. Robinson along with Landry looked decidedly average.

His 40 wasn't special, but in everything else, he excelled.  I've seen him mentioned in some places as a combine winner, despite his mediocre 40.

With that said, I think he is an early 2 pick.

EDIT:  Didn't realize this was already addressed when I posted...disregard.

I don't think Matthews is the next Allen...only 12 guys ever have had 1000+ receiving yards their rookie year, the chances of that happening to anyone are low and would be even lower in a Shula offense lol. I think the issue with vs. Benjamin is whether by year 3, Matthews will have figured out figured out the pro game and Benjamin will still be trying to rely on raw talent.

That being said, Matthews killed it at the combine...4.45 40, 35 inch vertical. I'd be happy taking either guy in the 1st.

OK, I will concede that "tumble" may have been too strong of a word. Perhaps stumble is more "apropos".  What I should say is that he did nothing to justify a first round pick, and I'd be loath to pick him in the second as opposed to not only other receivers that may be available, but offensive tackles as well (haven't checked into the DBs yet).

it's never a good thing when the "local" paper like the Pittsburgh Gazette is saying that you failed to help your cause.

I don't think he helped or hurt his cause.  I believe he just showed what everyone thought about him was accurate...he's not a burner, but is very shifty and has the quickness to get separation, can go up and get the ball, and has good hands.  He's not going to be a major deep threat, but he should be a high level possession receiver that can be dominant on short to intermediate throws.

My point was, it was cut and dry that Allen was the best WR last year! Most people not blinded by measureables saw it also! That being said, Mathews is hands down the best this year! He is as proven of a player could be! He is the safest WR available! Close second would be Watkins

I say Boldin because he doesn't have elite speed but has good agility and has good size and great body control. But Robinson is a guy you can use on screens and run deep. He's fun to watch after the catch and that's what seperates him from Matthews IMO (athleticism).

I think his ceiling is a legit number 1 with his floor being a good number 2 imo. I like Robinson's potential so I'd be happy with the pick if he was it.
