Kelvin Benjamin loves the panthers

Kelvin Benjamin should be a BEAST.  I'm not gonna say Megatron, but that's who he reminds me of when I look at video of him. He's so damn big, yet still makes it to the throws, still leaps and streaks down the field in no way a man that size should be able to.  Some people on here keep talking about suspect hands.  Jameis Winston was throwing to him with no eyes.  He did catch a pretty big one under the toughest pressure imaginable, IIRC.  Give him some OT on the jugs machine and put someone like Ricky Proehl on his ass.  Oh and the route tree thing.  Blah, blah.  He's 6'5"!!  That's the point with athletes like Cam and him.  The new NFL passing game/rules has rendered the old game almost obsolete.  Oh, and a child could learn a standard route tree.  It's taught at almost the lowest levels and nothing in the pros changes a curl, quick out, skinny post, drag, etc.  Only the pressure and work put in by other grown men holds others back.  So again, it would come down to work ethic and hunger.  He's 23.  Give him 2 seasons and by 25/26, I'd say watch the fug out NFL.

tl;dr -- If we go WR at 28 and either he or Cooks fall there, I'd flip a coin.  That being said, if a starting LT somehow drops to us, everything I just typed would be rendered moot.

I agreed that this hasn't been confirmed, but I'm not sure how you can just brush it off either. With the limited information we have surrounding the story, it's still a red flag. I wonder if you'd be so blase about another prospect missing (one of our) private workouts, and if you're just dogmatically defending 'your boy'. We're talking about millions of dollars on the line here. The scout would understand if the guy was tired, but it's still important to make the meeting. Just good business conduct, really.

How is it a red flag when you have no idea if it's true?  It's well known that teams put out misinformation about players in hopes of affecting their draft stock.

This forum is so biased is unbelievable. When you dont like someone go with the rumors and intelligence questions when you do like someone ignore the rumors and other concerns. Even if i didnt like Benjamin i wouldnt put much stock into stupid rumors.

Lol

Firstly that has not been confirmed as true.

Secondly, even if it was, that is not a big issue AT ALL. If he is tired/sore he is well in within his rights to decline a workout. All his tape is there, his combine and pro day is there. Look at what happened to Brandon Thomas. I'm fine with him protecting himself.

Please find a better example of work ethic issues.

Here's a very good look at Benjamin, who I like a lot talent-wise.

Still, you can't say that blowing off a meeting is ok when he scheduled it and the HC came to town to meet with him.  That's not good because it shows a lack of understanding and perspective.

There's plenty of smoke with Benjamin.  He's had a lot of weak motor flags in his career.

He's a risk with big upside.

KB isn't really my 'boy' There are other receivers I like more than him. You can check post history and you'd see O rarely posted about KB.

I just recognize the dude's talent and the ignorance on this board was beginning to irk me.

And again you are drawing way too many conclusion on a rumor that came from an unknown source, that was denied by an agent and was not confirmed by anyone else...

Lol at saying millions on the line. So one missed work out eliminates all his tape, combine, pro day and workouts with other teams because of a unconfirmed rumor?

We have no details of what exactly happened. All Brandt said was he blew off a workout because she was tired. No details on if he rescheduled or if he had a meeting. No follow up on this rumor either.

And again considering the apanthers just worked him out, it seems to me he is still on our board.

I've seen all I needed to see on Benjamin. Don't need to read or watch anything else.

Its not a red flag... at all. I'm not going to put any stock in an unconfirmed rumor, from an unknown source.

And as I stated above, him missing a workout due to tiredness is not a huge deal. Work outs are optional. If he felt sore he can cancel if he wants too. Why push yourself? If something happens to you that same team won't draft you cuz they are sorry.

He is a risk but many prospects are in the late 1st are. It comes down to fit, work ethic etc, etc.

You think agents are honest?  Sports agents are some of the griftiest grifters who ever grifted.

haha

yea the words "honest" and "agent" are not even really allowed to be in the same paragraph together anywhere.  I just broke a very big rule somewhere just by posting this.

Lol at fans questioning a player's "work ethic."

May as well question his "love of the game" or some other stupid pseudo-scouting phrase that gets tossed around by every wannabe analyst with wifi and a dell laptop this time of year

98% of people on this board don't know what the fug they are talking about come draft time
