We MIGHT* be tagging Hardy *Zod is in denial

tagging Hardy is a win-win. If we tag him and trade him, he has high value and we can get a quality player at another position of need. If we tag him and he stays, hes been a great player/personality and can keep this defense rolling. If we dont tag him we get nothing but a loss of talent and depth at the DE position.

Then we going to unexpectedly trade on draft day

Wish we could trade Hardy plus a 3rd to grab Clowney. Hardy is a better player at this moment, but we'd still be good and it would sure would save us a lot of money.  Texans aren't dumb enough to do it though.....maybe we can pull the trigger on that if he's still on the board when Cleveland is up.

Sure tag him.

Then do one of 4 things.

Sign him to friendly long term deal, remove tag.

Tag and trade Hardy for picks.

Keep tag on until something better comes along in FA ie a starting LT, remove tag spend money on LT setting up draft through FA.

Remove tag and move on if all else fails, 11 mill is too much for one year deal..

By that same logic, then what is the upside of breaking a (fake) story if there is not much to gain.

Bill may just have someone.

Still, Better heard from Bill Voth, then the mass hysteria that some people here supported of NJPanthers.

Zod is right about the "more wiggle room" unaffiliated guys like Voth have compared to the local guys like Person, JJ, etc. When Person/JJ break a story about the panthers - you can take it to the bank. But Voth doesn't have to worry about the disastrous redaction and he's not accountable to his editors, bosses, etc.

But...Voth could legitimately have an inside guy on the team. His source may feel more comfortable talking to a freelance guy than talking to a tenured beat writer or NBC media troll like Darin Gantt.

I'm not a fan of Voth's tone and I do think he is a troll - but so far he's been on the $$$ this off season. I can put up with his snarky comments/Cam hate if that means he's gonna give us the goods and inside info. It's like Jeff Goodman on ESPN college bball. He's a troll and UNC hater - but he's arguably the best college hoops insider there is.

In fairness, if Person breaks a story you can take it to the bank because that means it happened two weeks ago and the rest of the planet already knows about it.

What? Person and Jones don't have an inside person beyond getting the "scoop" from the PR guy throwing them a bone before the official press release is released.

Voth and Gantt have been covering this team for a decade plus and have built up relationships with guys for far longer than the two bozo's at the Disturber. I would trust their sources before the beat guys.
