Your Favorite Player After The Combine

Greg Robinson- not man guys his size, move the way he does. this guy has the ability to be a truck for who ever drafts him.

Donte Moncrief- explosive. good vertical, good speed, caught the ball well. was a fan of his since last year, but the combine made me like him even more.if he is there at 60, please take him.

Odell Beckham Jr- another explosive athlete. great vertical speed, with 10 in hands. looked smooth in drills, and is competing to become the 3rd WR off the board. im seeing he may be gone before #20 now.

I don't know who watched the 2nd group of receivers, but Jeff Janis had the best workout in that group... and yes that includes Sammy Watkins

Janis beat Sammy in the...

-40 yard dash (4.42sec to 4.43sec)

-Bench Press (20 to 16)

-Vertical (37in to 34in)

-3 cone drill (6.64sec to 6.95sec)

-20 second shuttle (3.98sec to 4.34sec)

Sammy beat Janis in the...

-Broad Jump (126in to 123in)

Janis is 6'3, 219

Sammy is 6'1 211

Janis has 32.5 inch arms, & 9 inch hands

Sammy has 32 inch arms & 9 5/8 inch hands

Sammy will be gone in the top 10 picks, while Janis will be available in the 4th round... Needless to say I have my combine crush

On Janis, I was also eager to see him as I had heard he was fast.

My question, does he look better suited to be in a west coast offense to you?

He is very quick, so I believe he could excel in a West Coast offense if he works on his route running... On the highlights I watched he ran alot of verticals because he was simply faster than the competition, but I think he could effectively line up anywhere... I do agree that he will be a terror in the short to intermediate passing game, but we have alot of that so I think Prohl could make it work.

With how tall WR's are getting, I honestly don't look at CB's under 6-1 any more. Also have to have length in the arm's as well. If you're not above that height I wouldn't look at you in the first 2 rounds, after that I'd be willing to draft a nickel back that's under that height.

The combine didn't really change my mind anyone on the player's I like.

Where the Panther's are picking in the first round I like Moses, Amaro, Cooks and Pryor if he falls inline with his rankings.

In the second I like Adams, Mewhort, Niklas or SJB.

In the third I like McGil,Martin, Dozier, Fierdorowicz and Abbrederis

Probably the worst statement ever in the world.

I agree.

Saw Janis workout and was impressed. Fast, fast, fast guy with very good hands. I think he'll be a nightmare for opponents coming off the slot.

Montcrief must have terrible game tape as all the evaluations pay little attention to his 40

I didnt believe that he had a bad season last year. They kid always catch my eyes. Obviously fans sees something in him, unlike the evaluators bc they were blowing up Rich Eisen's twitter when NFL Network went to commerical on Moncrief's 40.

I really hope that Gman will not panic and reach for an OT at 28. Morgan Moses is intriguing but has not show me 1st round talent. The only OT that may be available at 28 that I would not mind is Tiny Richardson. Hoping that Gman will address OT through FA. Breno Giacomini is a man that I really like.

Yea with the OT from Alabama rumored having knee troubles it looks less likely an OT will be BPA when we pick. From looking at many mock drafts I am seeing either a db or wr.

My guess is that he has a bit of ego and didn't do the best in interviews because he has everything you look for physically... He got his name out there even with Bo Wallace throwing him the ball, which is impressive... But I don't mind a receiver with an attitude, hell we've had Smitty for 14 years now and we just tagged the Kraken who is the master egotist.

Anyone who would put this in their head has an ego.

I have 2. Odell Beckham Jr & Brandin Cooks.

Disappointments. Koundigou & Landry. I think Landry was just anomoly but there are some real concerns K. Weak and no explosiveness.

I'm not sure what you mean with Landry. His height is a concern for the type of receiver he is. He was never a burner, nor does he have great acceleration, so he must make a career out of contested catches. Hard to out-jump anyone when you're 5-11 with a poor vertical. It's not like he'll be taller on a better day. His 40 was slower than expected, but I don't think scouts expected to see anything more than a 4.6 to start with.

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
