The best single season offensive performance in Panthers history was...

Matt Foley

amen. Smitty is my number one on the list, with D'lo, Stevie B, & Stevie D all tied for 2nd.

I bet DeAngelo can surpass his numbers from last season imo.

I think Williams has the talent and OL to do that....but Fox won't put that workload on him if Stewart is avaliable.

Smitty was the most exciting player in 2005 and made a point in his comeback year, then single handedly handled the Bears and the Giants. I have to include the playoff games to as the tie-breaker to Moose 04 and Davis 03. 99 was a fun year, especially that last game vs the Saints, trying to score more than the Packers for a tie-breaker to get in playoffs

I'll be a little different and go with Nick Goings in 2004 att217 yrds821 td6 lg57 ydc3.8 Not bad for a third stringer that year. After everybody was too banged up to play. And Nick kept us in the playoff hunt that year.

Actually I think he was 4th string and I can't disagree...

Smith's 2005 was reedonkulous.

he was the go to guy, had basically no help on the other side to draw coverage away from him.

Remember the bears game in the playoffs where he had 244 yards of total offense? Insane. He was used in end arounds, basically we tried everything we could to get the WR the ball, which is hard to do.

Fifth string.. Stephen Davis, DeShaun Foster, Joey Harris, and Brad Hoover were all higher in the pecking order than Goings.

Goings not only kept us in the playoff hunt, but he probably kept us away from the number 1 overall pick in the draft too.
