Raiders' LT, Veldheer, may become an option if Gross leaves

If there is 1 position you want to spend money on besides QB, it's LT. We shouldn't dumpster dive for Cam's protection.

I understand that, but the team isn't going to have the money to pay a LT 8-10 million a season plus fill out the rest of the team.

Adding that for a Lt gives the Panthers like 12 million to replace 20 guys with a large amount of them being starters.

The franchise tag for a left tackle this year is 11.25m. He's not going to go for anything less than that. Much like how everyone said in the other thread that Cam would no way take less than the franchise number for a QB.

 

To be fare, player would actually take a deal under the franchise money if it offers long term security.  11.25 mill this year with a possibility of career ending is worst than 8-9 mill a year average but with a huge signing bonus.

Perceived injury history? He had never missed a game before last season when he tore his triceps. That's false information. Here's a blurb on him from Evan silva:

What I quoted was directly from rotoworld too. Your point? Veldheer has only missed 11 games in his career, and that was after a freak injury last season. And, even there, it says that he's one of the best pass blocking LTs in the NFL.

Rather take Morgan Moses in the second round and pick up Collins from the bengals then we have two new starting LT AND RT who actually may keep Cam clean.
