Someone explain to me the Schaub situation

It wasn't just this year.  The rumblings have been going on the last few years.  The ending of the 2012 season was just when it got loud.  Having one of the best defenses, good WR, TE, etc... The Texans have felt that he just wasn't enough to take them to the next level.   Factor in injuries and an apparent lost of confidence the needed to part ways.

That does make a lil more sense. Their offense is stacked. Only problem is I don't see anyone much better they con obtain this off-season.

In all his playoffs runs the question was always whether he could take them to the top. Many believed he was holding the team back. So, his success was misleading.  If the goal were just about making the playoffs he'd retire a Texan. That's the risk you take when you sign another team's back up to big contracts. Alex Smith is another who might go through similar problem in the near future. The NFL is becoming a  1st round pick league QB wise. Ok, it always was.

If you had watched him throw interception after interception during critical parts of games this season, then your question would be answered.  Schaub literally tanked.  He was Eli Manning without the Super Bowl rings (but with even more tools to succeed at his disposal).
