Looks like we are going to need one of the top 4 tackles in the draft. Lewan or Martin seem most likely. Our OL is going to be atrocious next year unless guys really improve.

Hopefully DG is able to pick some WR talent late..

They aren't making it out of the top 12-15 picks, no way the Panthers get one.

Incognito is about as 'elite' as Byron Bell. I might give you 'good' - and even that's debatable - but definitely not 'elite'.

If he were really that good, teams would be willing to put up with his crap.

 

Teams WILL put up with his crap. He'll get signed in no time. I doubt Martin gets signed, unless it's by the 49ers.

He CAN play tackle. Better than anyone on our roster if Gross goes. I don't particularly want him nor do I like him, I was just offering a possibility. He'll play somewhere, at an elite level.

Elite level? Lol. He's an elite douchebag, that's about it. He was an above average guard at one time, he is no longer. However, if he was an elite LT I wouldn't want him anywhere near this franchise.

If Johnathin Martin can play football in the eys of our coaching staff I would be A ok with bringing him in. The question is can he be better than Bell? You would hope so. The next thing, was his poor play exacerbated by the locker room drama? In a better locker room will he thrive on the field? I would trade the Giants 7th round pick to get him on his rookie deal in a heartbeat.

Calling Incognito elite is far from reasonable and Sheffter has talked to multiple sources around the league who said Martin would have no trouble finding work. Incognito has had numerous problems over the coarse of his football career and I guarantee you most teams wouldn't touch him. Carolina won't consider him.

Bad news.  I don't understand why you'd retire after being one of the best and also on a good team that could make a push.  He has years left.  I worry DG low-balled him hard, enough to piss him off and push him away.   I was banking on us bringing Gross and Wharton back, since they played so well, and putting heavy attention to the right side.   Terrible news.

      They don't. Add in a player like LaMelo Ball, who selectively plays when he feels like it, and you cannot compete. If your highly paid players refuse to play full time, what can you do?
