10 Players The Panthers Can't Afford To Lose

Mine would be:

Otah - Cause Schwartz is unproven

Gross - Cause Cadogan is unproven

Wharton - The best interior offensive lineman

Williams - Cause our run game is the bread and butter of the offense.

Stewart - Same as above

Smith - One of the best WRs in the league

Peppers - Our interior defensive line is already sketchy. Without him our line would be even more questionable.

Beason - One of the best LBs in the league

Harris - One of the best hitters in the league and the backups are questionable

Kalil - The backup center is unproven

You wouldn't put one of our DT's in that list?? Edit: And I agree with him in that Stewart and Dwill count as one spot, I don't think either one alone is in our top 10 of who we absolutely can't lose when the depth at RB is probably deeper than any other spot on our team.

Sorry, I edited. I thought about him before I posted, just forgot to mention him cause I had too many players in my mind xD

1. QB Jake Delhomme

Yes, even after the Arizona game, this is the truth.

Anyone who doesn't understand his value needs only be reminded of a few truths. In the four seasons he's been healthy, the Panthers have made the playoffs three times. Since he took over as the Panthers' starter in 2003, exactly four quarterbacks have more wins. Those guys — Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger and Donovan McNabb — never have to justify their starting jobs to reasonable people.

This one has been beaten to death, so there's not much use expounding on it.

If you need any further confirmation of Delhomme's value to the Panthers, just say the following words to yourself, out loud: David Carr.

yup.....
