there were reports already that Gman and Gross had talked extensively on two occasions already while Gross was in idaho with his family.

 

Gman begging a return?  Gross has been a great pro and would not announce his retirement intentions before the draft and FA.  This would put us in a no leverage situation with potential replacements and possibly tip our hand in the draft

The fact that it's such a hard decision for him is a good sign. I think it'll come down to what Gettleman offers him for one more year. No doubt Gross is ready to call it a career.
