Yes it is hard to hit on a receiver. Yet, because of his height, you are against drafting one of the most complete, proven, productive, polished, and skilled receivers of this draft. Makes sense.

Height is only part of the equation like anything else. Cooks has everything except the prototypical size. Chances are other receivers are going to have far more flaws than that and a much higher risk to bust or not pan out.

I haven't specifically said that I am 100% against drafting him. I've said that if possible, I would much rather have someone taller. We have Cam Newton, we need a legit #1 for him who can go out there and fight for the ball, or go up and get it if necessary, and bail our quarterback out sometimes.

So instead of expecting our QB to throw the ball where our receivers can catch it, we should just get the biggest, longest receivers possible to make up for our QBs shortcomings? Is that what I'm getting from all the people that don't want Cook? You guys don't think Cam can adjust to throw to someone not 6'0?

Unfortunately, talent, and upside won't make him grow taller.

unfortunately being tall does not equate to talent.

Why not just draft a taller WR to begin with then?

Why not draft the more talented WR to begin with?

Talent alone can only make up for lack of height for so long. Time waits for no man. See Steve Smith.

wtf am I reading? Steve Smith is 34.

Go watch Brandin Cooks play. He does all of that. He is a fearless competitor that can highpoint balls, fight for possession, is great after the catch, and has great hands. His catch radius is impressive without even taking his height into account.

Seattle did it out of necessity with Sidney Rice being out, but I see where you're coming from... Smitty dominated for years being under 6 feet, but Smitty has 2.5 inches when it comes to verticle jumping... I think that can be a big deal when it comes to getting the ball at its highest point

Seattle will be done with rice. its funny because they have a midget QB throwing to a bunch of midget WRs. Cooks numbers are hard to argue with. You cut his numbers in half and it still wouldve been good enough to be our best recieving threat last season. i want a play maker idc if hes 3 foot or 7  foot. we need to score TDs.

You can't really believe what you typed. You're smarter than that.

You have an opinion, Red, but don't try and act like no one else's opinion is based upon arguments that are just as compelling, and perhaps even more-so than yours.  You're better than that...Oops, no you're not.

Yes, he was a top performer, ranking in at number nine.  The top 40 time for WRs. Speed and strength. Great hands. Good routes. With our needs, perhaps Brandin Cooks needs to be taken a little more seriously around here.

It would be a mistake to pass over him.

I will support whoever we draft. Again, biggest question is will he even still be there?
