Guess who got 16 reps on the bench press today

top dawg

After watching Marty Hurney fall on his face all those years at attempting to draft a legit WR, I would be happy with just hitting on one WR in the draft. Two? I don't think my mind can even handle that right now. We still have huge question marks on our OL regardless.

I wish I could have Pie d this comment 5x's

Three things. 1. Strength is a great indicator of a players work ethic. disagree, maybe he didn't do a lot of bench press to avoid bulking up, avoiding muscle mass, losing flexibility, etcIs he willing to do everything needed to be the best? Please do not discount how much being strong plays into a WRs success.

2. We need playmakers. I couldn't- couldn't care less care less how tall he is. Can the guy make plays? If so, I will be happy with him.

3. DBs are not going to suddenly become taller. There is a correlation between being too tall and loosing loosing? You mean "losing" your flexibility. Sure there may be a few taller DBs, but generally, they are not going to get much bigger. Seattle's success will influence a trend of bigger DB's, it's a copy cat league

Yep, Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Larry Fitzgerald are all great examples of how being tall automatically makes you stiff.

If he's our pick then fine, I'm on board. However I think the bench press is a completely worthless drill for WR's.

As much as I believe that strength training is important, even for WRs. The bench press is really a tool to determine a players raw strength. It is basically useless I agree. But it will give you a glimpse of a players brute force. Whatever reason that may be.

Bottom line: After all the stupidity in this thread, beginning with the idiotic notion that people are trying to find the next Steve Smith and are somehow Marty Hurney-esque (even though Hurney didn't even draft Steve Smith), to the false notion that the bench press is not an indicator of strength, Brandin Cooks may very well grade higher than most of his taller peers.

LOL you're kidding right? He's big and that's it? Alright man, whatever you say...

His hands are actually solid, if you watched the kid you would see he plucks the ball on a somewhat regular basis instead of letting it come into his chest as much. He has concentration drops like most guys, but to say his hands aren't good is 100% inaccurate.

it is not what I say it is what he does or in this case waht he does not do.Your hands scale is probably different than most.

he is probably the 20th or lower WR on the board.

I'm not sure why top dawg bothers creating threads if he can't handle opposing opinions.

I can handle other people's opinion. Just base your opinion on something that makes sense, and stop attributing stupidity and falsehoods to other peoples' opinions and acting like yours is the only one that matters. That's what you do.

Because it doesn't match what you think, it's automatically stupid, and idiotic?

Many people seem to disagree with you top dawg. So they are all stupid?

Many more people disagree with you, on way more topics too it seems.

Your opinions are like saying the Sun is purple.....and you do it in most threads.

For example man said "the huddle" wanted Tavon Austin when in reality it was Squirrel and like 1 other guy.

Most of "the Huddle" wanted a DT and namely hoped Star would fall to us(which the unlikely actually did happen).

Just 1 example in this thread of complete falsehood.
