Height matters but only to the extent that if you have two complete players you take the taller guy. You don't accept a drop off in talent just because the better player is shorter. Kelvin Benjamin is nowhere near as complete as Cooks, for all of his size Benjamin isn't even a good blocker.

My argument for Benjamin is. He might not be as polished. But whatever he and Evans line-up they cause mismatches. Not to many teams can match his size with there Db's.

His showing at the combine, didn't make him a first rounder. It solidified him as a first rounder. 

 

What he did proved his tape wasn't a fluke, he's got plenty of speed to burn, he's got good hops and can pinpoint the ball in the air and go get it. 

 

 

Not really. If you're implying that because Cooks had a "good combine showing" that he will be a first rounder, then why was he considered a late first rounder by so many draftniks before the Combine? If you're not implying this about Cooks, then pardon my assumption.

 

 

Or we actually watch both and realize Cooks' combine performance matches up with what he does in games, but sure go ahead...

 

Ding ding ding. This. Cooks was likely a first rounder before the combine; now he will be a first rounder. His combine showing just backed up what he did on the field. In fact, it proved he is an even better athlete and stronger than a lot of people gave him credit for.

What happens when he has to beat Sherman with a route though? Or make a crucial fourth down catch? He's not consistent in those areas. There's a spot I would draft Benjamin, but it's not in the first.

I'm really tired of the discussion about his height. If he can play and make PLAYS, then who the hell cares how tall he is!? And Marty Hurney usually drafted tall WR's in the early rounds. Dwayne Jarrett was 6'4, and Lafell is 6'2.

I wouldn't bet my life on it either way, but I know that we'll probably be working out Cooks, Benjamin, Matthews, and some of the others that are projected to go later.
