Meh, I think Clowney has the potential to be unstoppable, but he has some red flags. If we do trade, it won't be anything like the Julio trade. Both St Louis and Jacksonville's GMs worked under Dimitroff and honestly we can't afford another Julio type trade.

 

Especially when we can sit back and draft who I think is going to be an absolute terror in Khalil Mack.

I'm not in the group that thinks he will be a bust, and I'd rather not see him in our division...but with that being said I'd be just fine with the Failcons trading up in a ridiculously deep draft, no matter which player they get. One player a team does not make and they've got more holes than Swiss cheese lol.

The cost of trading up is just too damn high.  The Falcons swung a big deal to go up and get Julio Jones and he turned out to be great, but look at that roster full of holes that trade in part helped create.  Even if Clowney turns out to be great, I'd love for the Falcons to swing another big deal to go up and get him.  It'll just end up creating more holes for them down the road.

i think clowney will be a beast...for maybe 3 big plays a game. the rest of the time he'd be pretty meh.

i hope they trade up for him like they did for julio.

I'm a USC fan but I doubt that. His only talent in college was his super fast first step. In the NFL he will face much better tackles and RBs that can chip him. He is down right terrible at the run and gives up easily when doubled.

If he can't or doesn't have the desire to stay in shape for his final season of college why would anything change in the NFL? I don't see him doing well consistently.
