NFL considering 15yd penalty for use of "N Word" in games

I'm not talking about in the "offensive" manner, I'm talking about in the casual manner that many people feel free to use especially when heated.  I've already read about black officials stating that the word has been used towards them.

It's way too casual, and sets a bad example.  If I go to the gym to play pickup ball, I'll get called the n-word 10 times before being called my name once, and when I correct people or asked to be referred to by my name I'm always given a crazy look like I just violated some code.

It's out of hand.  Especially in this day in age, there's a complete lack of respect.  Most of the players are very young, and their behavior and language can be attributed to their environment and upbringing, but at some point on a national scale the wrongness of actions must be pointed out.

I feel you bro! stand up and correct them! but as they told me during black history month when I brought up slavery slowing down the progression of the black race in american economics....... "GET OVER IT"

I think it should be a fine instead of a penalty.

This is obviously targeting black players who call each other the word. The problem is you have this retarded usage of the word and the retarded logic behind it. Then you get other non-black retards using the word colloquially imitating the black retards and then things get really retarded.

I've personally seen 12 year old white girls going around singing 'my n*gga my n*gga my n*gga' and the irony that they picked it up from some random role model for the black community and not some racist uncle is bizarre.

When you are an employee you have to represent your employer well. NFL players are a laughing stock and a disgrace as a whole.

Things should change

The power of the word lies in who's saying it. It's like one gay guy calling another gay guy gay. It's like dude your gay too. That said taking the word that you said is deep rooted in hatred and bigotry and using it as a means of love between brothers is a testament to strength and over coming the word and and it's meaning. But,the true meaning of the word is still there and If someone from outside of that barrier calls you that word it could easily still mean the same thing it use to mean during those times.

Using your terminology, shouldn't we be tearing down 'barriers'?

This country is an effed up pile of dung. Too worried about stupid $hit like this. Pretty soon the NFL will be a game of touch football with a bunch of dudes wearing dresses. Let these guys play football and realize its an emotional game and cursing and name calling is just part of it.

I swear to god they are letting a bunch of pussies run the show. Even more ways the referee can influence the result of a game/play.

A bartender last week told me that many black fellas call her Becky. I've never heard that before but apparently is a term used for white girls.. Ie.... Racist. She said it's used frequently at the bars during ciaa. She also said the ladies at ciaa are very nice and also take offense to the term being used.

There asking her for head. Or that's also what that term is used for.

She didn't say that. She just said it's a deragatory term used for the white female bartenders.

That's where it came from. I'm sure it could have changed meaning many times but getting Becky is getting head. Its a rap song as well.
