Keep an eye out for Jeff Janis in the middle rounds, great size, speed combination. Played against lesser competition though.

They just showed highlights of the combine which included Moncrief and Matthews 40's.

Moncrief looked relaxed and coasted to a 4.4 Matthews earned his 4.6.

They said Moncrief is projected 3rd or 4th. I think he goes late second, early third.

Matthews was one of their Top 5 WR's who helped his stock today.

Baldy really likes Marqise Lee. Lee impressed me today, I'm not a huge fan of Lee. But he showed how athletic he was today and showed how smooth and fluid he is when doing drills. Him going to USC doesn't worry me, it's his lanky body and his knee injury last year that does. I'd like to see him add 10 pounds. But I can't imagine him being there at 28 when we pick.

Where are you getting 4.6 from for Matthews? I've seen you post it twice but the numbers I have are 4.40, 4.44, and official of 4.46.

Ya my bad, meant 4.46. Been posting so many dam numbers today.

Earlier the unofficial time he had was 4.40 but yeah officially 4.46.

If there at 28, I could see Gettleman taking him. Robinson didnt help himself with a 4.6 but tested very well in everything else. I still like him the most for realistic possibilities at 28.

Well, just got back, again, and watched the combine tape.

 

My take:

 

QB

1.  Bortles helped himself today by competing.  I think he moved up just a bit with his performance.

2.  Fales throws a nice ball, especially deep.

3.. I could see Logan Thomas being taken in like the 4th round by NE to develop.

4.  I would be incredibly surprised if Houston gave any thoughts at all of taking Manziel at the top.

 

WR

1.  First rounders to me look like Watkins, Lee, Evans

2.  Others fall this way

OBJ, Cooks, Matthews    Late 1/Early 2

Landry, Benjamin, Montcrief, Robinson  Solid 2's

3.  People who helped themselves get noticed.  Janis, Bryant, Brown

4.  Janis, after watching more tape, I think would be better suited for a west coast offense.

 

I think there will be a ton of WR's taken in the second.

We have other needs but I'd have no problem finding TD's eventual replacement in later rounds. At least an understudy who can play ST.

I am thinking that BPA for us now at 28 is likely to be a WR, especially with some of the performing well today and the ranks of the OT's diminishing a bit.

 

Odds are, in the top 35 players, there are more WR's now than any other position.
