The Official NFL Combine Thread

Recommended Posts

Then you are truly not watching the Combine or checking prospect profiles.

I've never seen a draft where so many WR have all the boxes checked in there column.

Watkins

Evans

Matthews

Montcrief

Those are the guys with the height, speed that we need for our #1 but I'm doubting they will be there for our pick or will be a reach in the first.

Not sold on Cooks or Beckam because of their height and think we could get better value at OL with our first. Landry, Benjamin and Robinson took big hits today to their stock.

Interesting fact:

17 WR's have run sub 4.4 40-yard dashes in the combine in the last decade.  Only one has ever had a 1,000 yard receiving season.  Mike Wallace.

Not surprising, big difference between running track and running in pads. The more important numbers for most GM's are the 3 cone and Shuttles, game tape, then seeing how they run routes and track the ball during position drills.

I'm certain you'll continue to rave about every draft eligible player and do so with in-depth, original analysis. Please, raise the bar.

I've said my peace on Lee, and it doesn't matter what I say because I'm a homer either way. Just calling a spade a spade. Saying he's a USC receiver followed by I'm not all that interested is lazy analysis. There's no way around that. He's a good route runner, explosive off the line, flashes great ability to pluck the ball, has great ability to get to catch point. There's a lot to like about him. Does he have some flaws? Sure, all players do. I would like to see his hands be a little more consistent, and he needs to get better playing through contact. I also wan't to see him continue to refine technique through his routes, but he's a very good WR prospect and a player who is certainly worthy of a top 30 selection. He's also got an outstanding work ethic, and a desire to be great that is hard to find.

I disagree. He can turn on the jets when he really wants to. It's likely motor inconsistencies.

In the open field sure, but after the catch he doesn't explode like a 4.3 guy should. Motor or not the combine speed doesn't match up to the speed he showed consistently on the field. Something you have to go back and look at again, it happens with lots of guys.

You forget Lee, , Byrant and Adams, all can develop into number 1 targets.

And you are short changing Robinson and Benjamin for some strange reason and every scout loves Landry.

Cook and Beckman did nothing but impress today no matter how tall they are and Janise and Abbderrius has solid days also.

Don't fool yourself this is the best Wr's draft crop in 10 years.

I think Marqise Lee will be the best pro in this draft class barring injuries.  We would be very lucky to have him drop into our laps at 28.
