The thing I like about Cooks is he's aggressive and is a pretty damn good high point catcher. Which is really impressive for his size. If the balls near him, he's going to go get it, not many guys in this draft that have that ability.

yeah thats why i compare him to Steve because he can climb the latter like a guy that is 6+, with great speed, can play inside or out.just a really good football player.

No excuse for not getting two very good WR prospects in this draft. Beckham, Bryant, Cooks, Ellington, Evans have all looked excellent in this group. Benjamin hasn't been as impressive to me but maybe that gives us a chance to get him (and I trust Phroel to eval and coach up whoever we choose).

he does have that same passion for the game, and working on his craft. not a talker, but just goes out and make plays. he does have the strength and speed to get off the press from bigger guys. i want a bigger guy as well, but if none grades out higher then Cooks, the panther should take him.

How do you know that he has the same passion? From everything I've ever heard, Smitty is a different breed. He doesn't think the way a normal person thinks when he's on the field. As it has always been said, there will only every be one Smitty.

I don't see that from Cooks. I see a guy who played in a spread offense who is fast and has decent numbers.

With people like Matthews, Beckham, Landry, Adams, etc likely there at 28, I can't see taking Cooks just because he's fast.

I want to bring in a guy or two who can play a year with Smitty to learn some of that passion. Smitty is the Ray Lewis of WRs.

again all i can go by is is what he says and does. he talks about that love for the game, and shows it with the work he puts in. Cooks did not play in a spread offense, it had many pro principals, and the QB was under center a lot. Riley does love the jet sweep, but he still had his passing tree that was close to a pro with 3,5, and 7 step drops and playactions.

i see the comparison on the field, smitty is now just a talkative little man. my pick at #28 is actually Odell Beckham Jr, but i dont think you cannot not at least add Cooks to the conversation.

I don't know what to tell you if you don't see his passion in the way he plays.

WEAKNESSES: Lacks ideal size with below average height and length for the position. Limited strength, muscle and overall growth potential. Struggles with physical defenders and doesn't have ideal body strength - will be overwhelmed in man coverage. Looks to avoid contact and would much rather escape out of bounds or go around defenses. Needs to secure the ball through the process to eliminate drops and fumbles. Smallish target for quarterbacks.

COMPARES TO: Tavon Austin, St. Louis Rams - Cooks is a slightly bigger, not as fast version of Austin due to explosive feet, open-field moves and natural athleticism that makes him a home-run threat whenever he touches the ball.
