2-3rd round most likely based on potential, possibly the 4th round. His times were good, really good. 4.34/4.35 on his two attempts. 1.53 10 split. 16 reps.

I'd be interested to know how cook's vertical compares to smitty.

I'm not concerned about route running compared to Smitty. I'm more concerned about desire. Smitty succeeded because he wanted it more than anyone. Because he always played angry.

Does Cooks has that same passion? Does he have a near Napoleon complex? Does he want it? That's what worries me.

With all of the other receivers that are going to be there, I would take one of the other guys who fits more into the vertical system that has size to get off the snap versus Sherman and the likes.

 

He clearly has desire and passion, you can tell by him going up and high pointing balls and going over the middle. He doesn't shy away from contact and just goes and gets it. At that size if you don't have desire, your not going to be that good at high pointing. 

 

OSU ran fade routes in the endzone to him because of his ability to go get it.

How hilarious would it be after all these years of neglecting WR, if we doubled up on WR in the 1st and 2nd.

It would be funny until I look back at our cornerback position.

I would imagine from watching some games of his that it would be pretty damn good.

Bruce Ellington with a 4.31. Great hands and great route runner that consistently creates separation. He's going to be a good slot receiver for some team. Would have loved to get him in the 4th but he might have run his way into the second day.

Martavis Bryant scares me. He makes spectacular hands but he is inconsistent with the routine stuff. Great athlete but not sure he's an NFL receiver right now. But those ridiculous measurables and highlights will get him into the second day for sure.

And this desire stuff is irrelevant when pertaining strictly to Cooks. That is the case for any great player. Determination, passion, desire... those are the things that separate the good from the great at any position, regardless of weight and height. Ever hear of David Boston? Lol. Good thing he ddidn't need those intangibles because he was so big and athletic.

Not saying he's the next smith, but he has many of the skills that Smith has. Enough so that his team ran fade routes to him in the endzone. He's fast and he can get up and go get the ball.
