It is hard to say what Gettleman will do given this is only his second draft and last year's pick with Star was a no brainer.  Still I would be very surprised if we go WR in the first unless someone unexpectedly slides.  First rounders have to be instant impact players and WRs picked outside of the top 20 rarely do that compared to other positions. There will be WRs in the third or fourth round who will be close in ability to those still on the board at our pick. On the other hand we could get one of the best CBs at that position or TE.  Sounds like we can find our OL in later rounds.

I want 2 OT, 2 CB, 1WR, last 3 picks use for depth. I personally think the best value will be CB which last time we picked this late it was a franchise CB in Gamble. Our draft is so up in the air it's crazy. We know the positions we need just no idea how the chips will fall, what's more valued, Gettleman draft style yet. Sucks they pushed the draft back.

he mentioned two OTs i hope we take, Kouandjio and Seantrel Henderson. those could be our bookend OTs for years. i think we could draft both of them. i agree with him on both. i think that kouandjio might slip to us at 28 and henderson could last until our pick in the fourth or fifth.

give me Ja'wuan James in round 3 or 4.  High motor, plenty of experience, and a mean streak.

It seems like for the past few years we've been getting this "wouldn't be surprised if this TE went in the t10 bc of 'today's NFL.'" I think if it happens this year it might be Atlanta, which woul be a shame as a UNC and Panthers fan.

IF that happens and they miss out on the stud OTs or a trade up chance at Clowney I will dance a jig.

Fuller or Seferian-Jenkins in the first.

Moncrief or Adams in the second.

I gotta say though... Colt Lyerla (despite his off the field issues) has me incredibly intrigued. He is a potential future All-Pro TE. The guy is crazy athletic and versatile. Anyone who watched him in Oregon knows how special he could be for any offense.

Sadly, I think after the combine, Adams is going to be regarded as a first round pick. I'd say take him at 28 and get the best CB/OL available in the second.

I'm really amazed at how kind of crazy this draft is squaring up to be.  Since the rookie pay scale hit, it seems like the draft has a lot more movement of players.  Teams are willing to take chances on great players at unsexy positions (Like Guard or ILB) rather than go for the best "impact" kind of player that saw teams push pass rushers and QBs up so much.  We're also seeing more teams willing to reach on a QB because they feel like it's their guy.  I'm super interested to see how this draft finally plays out.

I do think there is some interesting discussion about Manziel versus what was said about Cam.  Is it racism?  Is it favoritism?  I mean Johnny Football had two amazing years to Cam's one national championship reign of terror.  Who knows, everyone's going to spin that one a different way.

On the depth, if we could get two future tackle starters out of this draft, regardless of anything else taken, hit, missed, whatever, then we've had a great draft.  If we can get two tackles AND some productive players elsewhere, I will consider it an awesome draft.  The more I've thought about it, if we can keep Cam upright, get better push in the run game, we're better than last year's team.

This "should" be a great draft for us....

It's funny how manziel's maturity issues aren't a problem for mayock.

Yh Cam just clowned around being a joker but Manziel charges fans money for autographs, how dare you say there similar character traits LOL.

I think only a few people disliked Cam coming out of college because he was so unlike the stereotyped qbs that the old pros love and then because Cam actually tries to enjoy life and have fun he was seen as an immature bust and lots of people jumped on that bandwagon! It's fair to say he buried those opinions with his nfl career so far, I'm not sure I see Manziel doing the same.

I know many are saying taking 2OL early but I am concerned about drafting guys and starting them on the OL as rookies.  Almost all O linemen need at least a year to develop. Look at Silatolu his rookie year.  He was a big reason we struggled in 2012 on offense.  With him coming back and the other guys off IR returning, our OL won''t  be as bad as some think.  I would like to draft a few OL but not in the first 2 rounds and as developmental guys not instant starters.  Unless of course Gross doesn't come back and we can't find reasonably priced replacements in FA at right tackle and we are forced to go that route in the draft.  Still we are then drafting for need not BPA and that is the kind of thing we did with Brown a few years ago at DE and we see how that turned out.

I understand what you are saying.  However, I want an OL in the 2-3 round....future LT.

re-sign Gross to play LT....let the new guy play RT (send Bell's ass to the bench).  Then shift him to LT when Gross retires.

We need a starter....not another development guy.  We have plenty of those.
