Yeah, Batiatus is going to get some revenge...he has too, since this is obviously a prequel. I still haven't watched all of the first season yet, I'm streaming the ones I haven't seen on Netflix right now...which are the first and second episodes along the with the last episode.

it didn't really have that effect on me because i knew it was probably nothing compared to the revenge he's going to get for it.

Anybody catch the new episode? It's still got it, without Whitfield. Gannicus is a beast.

How about that fight with the blindfold? I never thought he would win that. Loved this first episode--lots of blood and sex, just like the original.

Yeah, that was awesome. The only problem I see is that there really isn't a compelling backstory with Gannicus, like there was with Spartacus. I suppose this prequel is more geared toward Batiatus though.

it'll probably end up more about the rise of Crixus than about Gannicus. maybe they figure they don't need much backstory cause they want you to dislike his cockiness and root for Crixus.

Yeah, aside from the fact that he was a prick to Spartacus 99% of the time, he seems like a yes man to Batiatus and he had no problem being where he was, doing what he was doing. How compelling can that be?

Just finished watching the last couple of episodes from season 1. What a great ending. To be honest though, I'm not sure how good the second season will be. The characters of Batiatus and his wife are going to be very difficult to replace IMO.
