I think that 28M ignores the 17.8M dead money we are carrying. Spotrac has us at 8M with the cap at 126 (would be 10M at 128) http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/carolina-panthers/cap-hit/

If you cut Blackburn, Edwards, June 1 Godfrey and restructure 7.5M of CJ's money forward you'd only creates 12.78M additional cap space. So if the cap starts at 126 this scenario would leave us with 21M to operate this off season

Numbers I quoted you had that roll over built in. Check the link. Unlike last year, there's not a lot of restructure candidates. Edwards/Blackburn are the only cuts to create significant space where Godfrey only makes 5.4 with a June 1st cut (2.1 without June 1st). The 2014 draft salaries aren't included yet either which overthecap.com estimated for every team already (believe we were between 4-5M)

I've spent all offseason hearing we have 11-12 mil cap space and a Hardy tag would take 10-12 mil. Now we're at 28 mil? Can someone smarter than me explain what is going on? *mindblown*
