The defense is going to look totally different, there has been a total change there wth Williams and the players know it. The players seemed to have bought into Williams as Carolina's have to Meeks. I think it's going to be close to the 2000 unit that thrived on creating havoc in the backfield. Bobby McCray told the Times-Picayune that Williams would blitz himself if he could.

I would like to take this moment to mention that pound for pound even with all of the Saints upgrades the Panthers Defense from a pure talent stand point is still the best in the NFC South.

Just ask yourself this would you trade your offense for ours? I would have to think about that and even possible answer yes, but would I trade our Defense for your or any other team in the NFC South? Fug no.

Your improved defense is still way undermanned compared to ours

Talent is not all there is to a defense, not even close. Scheme, the mentality of the players, and whther those players fit or not make more of a difference than talent. The 2000 Saints team that had 66 sacks wasn't that talented, they just had a very good coach in Ron Zook and a depth chart FULL of aggresive players. Philly & Tampa have been at the top of the defensive rankings for years now and it doesn't have much to do with talent.

Like I said earlier, if you were to ask me if I wanted to switch out the Panthers O for the Saints O, I might answer yes. but D for D, I'd say F'! no, it's not even close we are better then you across the board, and you acting as if your DC is going to magically make your D better then ours when our DC isn't no Joke either is near laughable.

Honestly, no one knows who will have the best defense right now. It's dumb to say one way or the other who has the best defense. Because you have talent on paper doesn't make it the best.

Yeah, based on some quotes I've read from Williams it seems he may play safety at times, not start. Just to throw a different look at offenses. Chip Vaughn, Darren Sharper, and Usama Young will compete for the free safety spot while Roman Harper has SS locked up.
