Nick Foles, Mike Glennon

Two guys with somewhat parallel paths last season.

 

Both were drafted in the third round (Foles in 2012, Glennon in 2013). Neither was expected to be a starter so early in their careers, but both became starters and saw a measure of success.  And at least for the moment, both seem likely to be the opening day starters on their respective teams next season.

 

The question: How good are these guys really?

 

Was their success legit?  Was it based in their teams' systems?  Was it just that they were unknown?  What's your take?

No idea with either, I'm not ready to make a commitment one way or another. Way too soon to tell. They showed a lot of good stuff, as well as bad, could be a system thing, who knows? I guess we'll know next year when teams have more tape.

i dont think anyone saw the success Foles would have going into this season.  so little that, Chip Kelly wont even say he is the starter going into next season

he showed promise though, and on that team last year is almost equivalent to success.  i say get him a TE like Ebron or if Amaro or Jenkins falls to their pick in the second, with Martin back, they should be pretty tough.

But remember how good QBs looked in Andy Reid's system, and how much they sucked when they left it?

 

Could a similar thing be true of Chip Kelly's system?

foles is good, but a lot has to do with the system.

 

glennon is ok but not much more than you saw last year.

 

both guys will see a regression next year, probably glennon more than foles.

 

i don't see either guy losing their jobs any time soon.
