Shared the FB page.  So sorry to hear this Jai, just heartbreaking.  God bless you and your family, and know you will see your son again.  He definitely sees you.  Prayers go out to you all.

Thank you brother!  God bless

I have no words - I just can't imagine.  I know that I would want to die too, but then you have to think about your other child and you have to go on.  I am a nurse, and did my pediatric rotation through the Levine Children's hospital (not called that then).  I remember that I wanted to be a pediatric nurse when I first started nursing school.  It was when I did that rotation that I knew I could never do it.  I was only thinking of cute sweet kids - and I learned right away that these are cute sweet kids, but that they die more than you'd ever want to know.  I am so sorry.

I'm not religious by any measure but I will pay tribute for your son. Meningitis is no effing joke. Beware. It's one of those diseases/viruses that no one takes seriously until it's staring you in the face and the physicians tell you what you're facing.

Your exactly right.

im sorry for your lost.i could only imagine the feeling of losing a child. do the Dr. know how he got Meningitis?

The Dr's can't pin point how or where, see, Meningitis is so common, it's all around us.  You've been exposed to it as well as everyone else, usually our immune system fights it off.  The doctors exact words to us is that this was "horrible luck"

This is probably the worst loss anyone could ever imagine.  As has been said, our words will not be enough to do anything but let you know that we recognize what a horrible loss you have experienced and to let you know we are sorry.  We also have great hopes for you and your wife and hope you guys can lean on each other.  Our faith is an underlying floor for us, but we are also human.  There will be a lot of whys in your future, don't be afraid of them.

Hang in there, I am so so sorry, have never experienced such a loss.

Thank you guy's for the condolence's and wise words.  Please, if you have facebook, visit that page, and share it as much as possible.  I'm looking into working with a few agencies, and hopefully, even our beloved Panthers to bring awareness to this invasive, violent ailment.

We never realize how serious something like this is until we are staring it in the face and the dr's are explaining it to us.

My heart breaks for your family. I am so sorry for your loss. You are right for doctors are human. THEY MAKE MISTAKES! I hope every one reading this thread takes your advice. My wife would have died of colon cancer had we not gone to get a second opinion. She was pregnant with my second child at the time. Thankfully I had nurses who I worked with and were friends who helped us make the right decision to get a second opinion. God Bless your family. Thanks for speaking up on the issue of meningitis and doctors too common false diagnosis.
