Apparently the Pirates wanted to resign Jack Wilson but not Freddy Sanchez. Wilson went inot the FO and said he wanted his double play partner resigned or he wanted out.

I actually like the Wilson trade and the direction they are headed. Previous front office absolutely ripped the minor league system bare. They are building in the right direction. Wilson is a great defensive SS but no bat. Ian Snell has been a head case for the last 2 yrs. Basically telling pitching coaches that he would not listen to them for any reason at all. They will finish ubder 500 again this year but if they keep doing what they are doing will be competitive in 2-3 yrs. You heard it from me first.

Their stadium and its location, proximity, environment, things to do afterwards closeby, and fan experience prolly pwns at least half the other MLB teams.

Revenue sharing ...when a team is guaranteed tens of millions from MLB regardless of their payroll or product on the field, why bother spending money? There are owners who run it like a business and there are owners who love the game and want to win.

The biggest fans of the Steelers are....the PIRATES.

They do enough to turn a profit. If the Steelers were not in Pittsburgh I could live there and go see the Pirates play for like 100 a year.
