Riley Cooper would you want him

it's just an element of potential drama that i'd rather the team not have to deal with.

there are other options without that baggage. if the players were 100% ok with it, then i'd be fine. i just don't know that i'd put too much effort into seeing if he's a fit.

as far as a media circus....had the eagles gone to the NFCCG or even on to the superbowl, you better believe that the media would have made a big deal about it. they thrive on ripping the scab off wounds just to get ratings.

it could have been a one time deal brought on by way too much alcohol and he might have learned his lesson, i just don't know that he's worth the effort of bringing in.

I'd have to think they'd make the story about how it happened but the team came together to make it that far. But that's just how I think they would have portrayed it.

Would you have been able to deal with the headache josh Gordon could have brought if we traded for him?

I think the thing is there is a line. Does the talent exceed the headache caused? With Gordon without a doubt. With cooper I think the line of the headache has come down and his talent should be able to over shadow it.

huh? so you're saying Vick is now a locker room problem? And that it's at all relevant to attain such a feat as being unanimously liked throughout the NFL?

I didn't imply in my post that he is a locker room problem for his team.

I wasn't aware that it was a secret that a lot of people either like him, or hate him. I don't agree with it, because personally I don't have a problem with him. But it's pretty well known that his history still follows him around.

I don't think your use of Vick in this argument for Cooper fits the way you would like it to. Sorry.

I'm not seeing where I said he was asking for anyone to make excuses for him.

Is that the best you have?

Keep deflecting, we wouldn't want you to have to admit your buddy Riley Cooper is a racist.

You said it's sad he needs people to make excuses for him. I asked where was he asking people to do that for him. I'm not deflecting at all. You are literally all over the place in this thread. I'm getting pm'd how bad your arguments are yet you are still trying to make it seem like I am defending cooper because he is a racist or I'm somehow friends with him but the whole time I've just been arguing he should get looks for his production but you either never seem to get that or you just willfully ignore it because it doesn't fit your narrative

If the team and fans in Philly, who are brutal on everyone, let him off the hook for the off-field garbage, then I'm okay, too. And let's not forget this is the same team that signed Michael Vick, convicted animal slayer.

From a football perspective, his 47 catches are pretty good numbers on a team with DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Brent Celek and Zach Ertz all competing for receptions. Not to mention a certain running back named LeSean McCoy who is a pretty darn good receiver out of the backfield.  He's 6'3" and over 220lbs, a nice target for a QB who typically misses high...

Philly fans are known for uttering racial slurs so cooper is one of their own. Cooper is just an extension of them on the field. Plus you can't compare behaviors associated with genocide and crime against humanity with some dude fighting animals. Dog fighting and cock fighting is a popular sport in a lot of countries including here. So whether it's a crime is relative.

And what argument is that?

claiming Vick has a past that people either like or don't like must imply it is a locker room problem or else why even mention he's polarizing?

So you don't think that he is still in fact a polarizing figure for many people?

Well, I guess I'm seeing, and hearing completely different things then.

Agree to disagree.

you would have to realize what point I was trying to make before you could agree to disagree..

All I mentioned was that fans opinions really don't mean poo to anyone and that the only opinions that matter would be the locker room.  I only brought up Vick by stating that if fans didn't quit watching him then the Panthers wouldn't lose the fanbase if they for some reason brought in Cooper.

However, you assisted me in making a further point..  If the ever polarizing Vick can become the leader of a locker room after killing dogs and serving 2 years in prison then it's certainly plausible to assume the Panthers locker room just might be cool with Cooper joining the team.

From there we could agree to disagree on whether the locker room would allow such a thing and if Cooper is worthy of even landing a roster spot in the 1st place..  But I don't care either way so there's no need to discuss it.

Michael Vick isn't a white man who called a black man the n word in a drunken idiotic rage in front of his white friends.

Riley Cooper is, and he has to find a way to fit into other locker rooms in a league that the majority of which is made up of black men.

Are you seriously going to rationalize the behaviors of Riley Cooper by generalizing the entire Philly fan base and Michael Vick based upon the supposed "popularity" of what you call a sport?

Dog fighting is illegal in all 50 states and it's territories. There is no "So, whether it's a crime is relative." It's is a bullshi* comment.
