Riley Cooper would you want him

If the team and fans in Philly, who are brutal on everyone, let him off the hook for the off-field garbage, then I'm okay, too. And let's not forget this is the same team that signed Michael Vick, convicted animal slayer.

From a football perspective, his 47 catches are pretty good numbers on a team with DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Brent Celek and Zach Ertz all competing for receptions. Not to mention a certain running back named LeSean McCoy who is a pretty darn good receiver out of the backfield.  He's 6'3" and over 220lbs, a nice target for a QB who typically misses high...

I don't see that as being an issue.  If he can do his job in Kelly's offense, then he should be able to do his job in our less prolific offense. If anything, he would hopefully help to raise ours a peg or two.

Plenty of people have been making the argument that Eric Decker's numbers are inflated because he played with Peyton Manning.

It's a legitimate question.

Because everyone knows he is the only player in the entire NFL to ever say n***** or any other derogatory word.

Oh so that makes it all okay right?

Is this thread about making excuses for him engaging in racist behavior, or about him joining our team?

All the while refusing to acknowledge Foles and Manning completed passes at a nearly 5% better clip than the next group of QBs and that may have been easily the result of having a lot of weapons to spread the ball around. Foles and Manning both routinely finished games in which they completed passes to 8-9 different receivers.

Different offenses. We have Mike Shula, and an OL falling apart.

No. Do not want this race baiter in the locker room, tho i would love to see smitty punch in the mouth a few good times just for show.

So, a guy on our team beats up multiple teammates and we are forgiving?  In fact, you want him to beat up another guy.

Credible post

Yet this post is credible? Just how comparable is punching someone in the face to calling a black man the n word? Please, tell us.

There is also the question of just how much his production in 2013 was due to playing in Chip Kelly's offense.

He still had to catch 47 passed thrown his way. He still had to get 800 yards. He still catch 8 td passes. You can't completely discredit one guys stats but everyone else's are ok. He accomplished what was put in front of him. Don't use personal issues you have with him diminish what he's done on the field.

He put up big numbers against defenses like Oakland, and Green Bay, while playing in Kelly's offense. How impressive.

From a pure football standpoint, no. The off the field stuff just adds to that no. He's got good hands but really is not good at getting open. And with the amount of time Cam has in the pocket, we need guys who can get open.

Given what is out there he is probably one of the better options. There are really only WR2 out in free agency and those guys are WR2 because they dont consistently get open. The top guys out there are Decker, Nicks, Boldin. Decker and Boldin are ok at getting open quickly but after that you probably get a tier with Cooper in it.
