Cosell would take Benjamin over TAMU's Evans

I probably wouldn't take him at 28 but we really need to get Bryant in this draft. 6'5" runs a 4.3 and has great body control. I keep seeing him listed as a 3rd or 4th round pick and I just don't see how. Granted I didn't see a ton of Clemson games but every time I would cut them on Bryant was doing something impressive and game breaking.

its the simple stuff- if two players are close in rank, you take the one with more upside. ive already stated my say on benjamin-, hes what GMs spend EARLY picks on in a passing league. i wouldnt be surprised if hes in top 10 picks.

all of his number are VERY VERRRRY appealing(no idea about his football smarts/IQ). very few humans walking the earth are big(real 6'5"), strong(unreal for WR), and fast(this is where the ? is). benjamin is ALL those plus some. i would be surprised if he dropped to panthers, if so take a gamble and turn in the card ala star pick.

Passing on Lee because you are scared of USC WR is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. They was scouted by 2 different coaches and have different skill sets. Lee did have a year he battled injuries, but it was only 1 year. If he passes the combine exams, based on the tape, this guy is a 1st round talent. Not drafting him because of tape is a legitimate excuse.

This guy is known as a hard worker, has crazy athleticism, and wants to be great.

There will be significant shuffling of WR boards after this weekend.

Watkins at the top is about all that will stay the same.

Evans could drop quite a bit

Benjamin could go up to mid first round or drop back to the second

OBJ could move up significantly

There are about 8 guys that will move up or out of the first round based on this weekend and personal workouts

All starts with height and weight, 40's, and cone drills.

Can't wait to have something "footballish" to watch again.

Crazy athleticism ? There is nothing that stands out about him! He is a 6 foot receiver who runs a 4.61 40 coming out of high school...

The guy isn't a physical marvel or a burner his ceiling is A. Bolden... With all the high passes cam throws we need a guy capable of bringing them down..,

you do know he was recruited to play DB from Serra HS right? he also got on the field early as a freshman even after converting over to the offense side of the ball, after playing mostly DB in HS until his senior year. he separates easily from DBs and has good to great YAC ability which also speaks to his athleticism. dude has literally over 25 college TDs, but yet he is not athletic.

with all the athletes that come to USC, why would you put the worst athlete back on KO return and cater your offense to him even after having Robert Woods dominate the year before?

    • Oh he would absolutely flourish. It’s the panthers way. It’s no different with coaches. Sometimes they reach their expiration date, go somewhere else, and find new success.  Similarly to Burns, how long to wait for the light to finally turn on?  Market forces will demand a salary that the panthers can not responsibly match. Sliding him to guard will fit his skill set better, but he has played LT for 3 years. He will receive offers from other teams wanting to pay him LT money.  At guard, he won’t start with what they have paid Hunt and Lewis. Center then?? Dunno. Maybe? He will become a backup by default once they draft their stud LT. I doubt Dan just stands pat. That’s not his MO.  So where does this put him? Can you match what other teams will offer for a backup LT/guard? Do you dish out franchise LT $ on a guy who still needs significant improvement in pass protection. This team will be DOA in the playoffs with the very first team who has a formidable speed rusher. What if he has hit his ceiling in pass protection already and they sign him long term? It’s a big gamble either way.
    • We're in a great position to see just how big of a misstep it would be, having made so many ourselves
    • I didn't say I would have done it. I was just saying that I can see why some in the FO considered it. Everything was done to give Bryce weapons. Solidify the interior line thru FA. Get XL at WR in round 1 and then get the most talented RB in round 2. Take a TE in round 4, etc They were probably "assuming" he'd make a complete recovery during the 2024 season. I'm a skeptical person. I wouldn't have assumed he'd be ok in 2024. I personally would have taken another position in the 2nd for that very reason. But, if I were "influenced" to take him I would've argued to keep him off the field, especially seeing how things were going for us record wise. Conventional Wisdom says most backs don't get back to normal until two years after the ACL surgery. He was injured in Fall 2023. Having him suit up in 2025 would have been almost 2 years since the original injury. You have him for 3 year on low contract. If he balls out, you resign him for a couple of more years b/c he'd only have 3 years of tread on the tires. If he's ok but not great you let him walk.
