The forgotten 2 extra points

So the NFLN was replaying all the superbowls leading up to the big game last week. I just got around to watching ours and forgot about the 2 extra points that Fox went for 2, twice. I decided to keep track if we had just kicked the extra point and came up with this:

1st Qtr

2nd Qtr

7-0: Pats score first TD - Brady to Deion Brach

7-7: Panthers answer with TD - Jake to Smitty

14-7: Pats come right back with TD - Brady to Givens

14-10: Panthers put up FG before half

Halftime

3rd Qtr

4th Qtr

21-10: Pats score on a rushing TD from Smith

21-16: Panthers Deshaun Foster with the dive in the endzone TD (with 12:39 left in 4th)

[21-17: If we take the extra point]

22-21: Panthers score with longest pass from Jake to Moose (6:35 left in 4th)

[24-21: If we take the extra point]

29-22: Pats score on pass from Brady to Vrabel and convert on 2 pt conversion.

[28-24: If we had 24 points- no way does NE go for two point conversion. They kick the FG and go up by 4]

29-29: Panthers score on pass from Jake to Proel

[31-28: If we had just taken all the extra points]

31-29: Pats score and win on Vinatieri FG

[31-31: If we had just taken all the extra points]

Game goes into OT, where Panthers win.

The end. You're welcome.

Fox was, is, and always will be a terrible head coach.

I do not agree....and I have been a big critic for a long time.  He is not terrible.  He is good at some things..apparently he is a good players coach.  Flaws....he plays not to lose. He cannot/refuses to adjust.  He is not a good game manager. Not good at developing players.

I still would not call him terrible.  He is sometimes good...but never great.

how many times does the avg coach go to the SB? How many times does the avg coach go twice? I would say he is ahead of the curve. He will probably go back again next year but we'll have to wait and see.below avg would be a math answer not an opinion answer.

What would Fox be like without Peyton Manning? His 3 winning seasons in a decade gives you a pretty good idea.

    • It's been a tradition of mine in FF I ignore the name of the RB and draft them based on the oline. For years, Dallas was the elite line. Now it's Philly. It's been plug and play behind those lines. Investing those day 2 picks on the interior line allows you to take a day 3 RB and get day 2 results.
    • So we have Tremble, JT Sanders, and the Thomas - Franks is the 4th but mainly just for Special teams.  Sanders is a TE - on paper, on the roster, physically, and on the field.  If you are trying to claim because he is a good receiver and not a great blocker he is not a TE then you have not watched very much football, like at all.  Cause that is how a ton of TE's come into the league.  Literally the #1, most common area for improvement for the TE group every single year - especially the top 5 TE's. And for the 1 millionth time, for the people in the back - drafting BPA is absolutely not a rule that anyone follows.  Not a single team.  They always factor in multiple things, BPA being one of them but not the most important almost ever.  It is an evaluation of need, personal evaluation, pick position/who drafts before your next pick, trade offers, free agents possible.  They don't follow it for good reason. Perfect example - Bo Nix.  He was not rated anywhere near #12 by just about anyone - including the broncos.  But they drafted him because they NEEDED a QB, liked him, and had no 2nd RD pick.  They outright said that.  Do you think they regret the pick?  They drafted 100% for need and pick position. Example #2 - Bijan.  Atlanta drafted BPA.  He is amazing, had a great 2 years so far.  They were 7-10 for 2 straight years prior.  And the 2 years after they have been 7-10 & 8-9.  Do you think they made the right decision?  By the way they also spent the #4 overall pick on Pitts, a Generational TE, and he/they suck.  I'd imagine Falcon fans would not agree with your BPA theory since they missed out on Chase, Waddle, Parsons, Horn, PSII, DeVonta Smith - all positions of need in 2021. BPA is A criteria, but not THE criteria.
