Does Cam have an asking price?

Your entire flawed argument is based on your assumption that Cam will literally demand the biggest contract in NFL history or something, and there is no indication of that so far whatsoever.

Bottom line is it is up to Jerry Richardson, and Dave Gettleman. There is no way Jerry Richardson let's Cam Newton leave as long as he wants to be here, and we have absolutely no reason to believe he doesn't. So a deal will get completed, and no amount of idiotic trolling you decide to do on an internet message board will change that. If you have a problem with it, find a new team.

no not at all. I never said that in fact if you actually read any of my posts "if" was a qualifier. Do I need to tell you what that means?

So you say he won't break the bank but bottom line is if he wants to break the bank  we should/will pay what he wants.you talk out of both sides of your mouth. Need I explain that also?

I also probably need to explain that not agreeing with you is not by definition trolling.tighten it up man(?) you are all over the place. Can I please stay a fan I'll agree with every thing you say? Please, please, please?

Can't switch Panthers are and always will be my team. sorry , maybe you could switch since it bothers you so much.

No, not for asking. It is a negotiation. I think I said that already.if he doesn't get better how could you just give him what he asks for?

The same arguments you are making for what the Panthers should do with Cam Newton, is the EXACT same arguments Colts fans can make about Luck next season.

Under your theory, the Colts should trade Luck if he is "overpayed...and would greatly hinder attempts to rebuild other positions if we pay him and don't upgrade around him we will be struck...you get something for him...we are not limited to one option...and all is not lost if we don't sign [Luck]..."

A GM operating under this pretense, next year, if all holds, would trade Andrew Luck if he is "over payed" which by your own definition would be anything north of 9 million...(considering Luck has worse stats than Cam)

So when/ if Luck doesn't want to accept a 9 million a year contract, the Colts should then trade Luck, according to you.

The reason why I am using Luck is because he has worse stats than Cam, is considered a franchise QB, YET I doubt you would advocate for the Colts to trade Luck next year.

The point I am making is you don't have a problem with Cam's stats or potential 15+ million contract. You have a problem is CAM, the individual.

I've never claimed to be a fan of Cam. Having said that, to me he really showed that he is capable of being an elite NFL QB this past year. However I'm afraid that if, and when, he is given a big contact he won't preform as he had.

I don't know if that would happen or not. But if he is paid more than we really can afford then we may not be able to give him the support on O that he needs. He has shown what he can do and he alone is not going to take us to the Championship so paying him only maintians what we have  getting help is wht will push us forward. That and keeping the D as strong as it is.
