Does Cam have an asking price?

If you want to start a thread about Cam's production, go ahead. We are talking about a future contract based on Gman stating Cam is a franchise QB.

don't need to start another one this is about his value and what he is worth and his production is a factor in that determination.

If you can look at Cam Newton's full production, and contributions through the first three seasons, and only come away thinking "well that guy is definitely just a middle of the pack quarterback" then you are either mentally handicapped, or seeing only what you want to see.

that would be a false dichotemy.

What about Cam's personal production do you take exception with?

what does that mean I didn't take exception to any of it. I merely looked at the stats and where he stood vs the other QBs .what do you mean take exception? by the way how do you get that from the post I quoted?

Looking at his stats alone don't even give you the complete picture. You have to go deeper. For example, take his scrambles for first downs, and game winning drives out of the picture for the 2013 season, and we don't even make the playoffs.

It's about what he means to this team, he is our franchise player. You don't like it? Tough poo. He is, and he will be paid accordingly.

My biggest gripe right now with this organization is that we didn't do more to surround him with the necessary talent on the offensive side of the ball in his first three seasons while we had him on his rookie deal. One fuging starter on offense through the draft since he got here in 2011, and that guy was on IR the whole 2013 season (Amini Silatolu).

he is a middle of the pack QB and has been all 3 years.his passing yards have gone down each year and he was top 10 passing yards 1 time. His rookie year.it is impossible to have never made 20 mil in a season to avg 20 mil. over a career.

with all the stas you speak we went to playoffs once and that was only after we built a great D.We could pay him an outrageous amount but unless we have the money to get him help we will be about where we are right now or worse.

if that is all we can do then it is not woreth it and he is not worth it. If he is worth it then incentivise his contract back up the Brinks truck to his house after he wins a SB.

This is what you really want to talk about. You say he's middle of the pack. Former gm's say he's the 4th best qb in the league. Espn has him as the highest rising qb. I think I value your opinion the least.

Stop trolling.

Who got his money after winning the Super Bowl, the team being gutted in the process.

You have a good point. It seems like we're in quite the predicament. I highly doubt the Lions or the Bears will be successful with their qb contracts.

I hope we keep Cam as long as possible but the real question is, how do we do it without ruining the team?

I don't agree with putting all of the struggles the Ravens went through this past season entirely on Flacco's contract. Stop being silly. Ray Lewis retired, Suggs left, they traded away Boldin for peanuts, and Ray Rice had a down year. Why are people acting like the Ravens only won two games all year? Even with all that they still went 8-8. Flacco isn't the problem.

Again not about liking or not liking. At least you gave reasonable answer for the most part. That is all it takes. What he will get is not the question I am asking it is the value.if you pay him so much you have to bargain hunt to surround him with supporting players then he is overpaid. that reduces his overall team value because the overall talent level will be affected.the ineffectiveness of a supporting cast inflates his rushing numbers as he has to scramble more. I would say his overall scrambling will go down if we upgrade the Off around him. That would be a welcome lack of production.

Not to mention making Mike shula our OC and passing up on Hue Jackson.
