Does Cam have an asking price?

as long as there aren't enough elite qbs for every nfl team, that will never happen.

I'm not really sure what this means.

And how do you define 'elite'? Elite is literally defined as "a small group of people who control a disproportionate amount of wealth or political power." with "small group" being the key phrase. So, in essence, having an elite QB for each team isn't possible, it breaks the definition of what elite means.

So, just fyi, even though he and I kinda see things the same way, I definitely don't consider Cam a middle of the pack QB. I think Cam is definitely a Top 10 QB, on an offense that is anemic at its best times.

But yeah, going back to our previous discussion. It is definitely a theory on how to work things. But, I think that it could work. The problem would be a) finding a GM that goes that much against the grain and b) having an owner go explicitly along with it.

Yeah, and I think most GM's in the NFL would agree with you on Cam, heel is just trolling.

Anyways. I think you would be hard pressed to find a GM, and owner combo willing to take that sort of course of action right now. That could honestly send an organization into a tailspin if it backfires. Teams want talent, and they know that they have to pay to acquire, and keep it.

I think in regards to the Seahawks, enough isn't being said about their staff. That is a key crucial factor in the success they have been having. Obviously the players are making the plays, but Carroll, and the GM put it all together, and I'm very envious.

Middle of the pack is based on where he ended up stat wise. Potential is always a different matter but it also is something that sometimes does not materialize so all you can go by is what happened.

i do agree that it would take a GM to step up and I don't know if there is one who would do that right now. My only point is there are always ways to change thngs if someone is willing to do it. I want to have enough resources to get the players we need and not bargain hunt for everyone.

not trolling at all.it is a reasonable point to make and  a reasonbale question about QB salaries.now if there is some other real reason  there may be that GM's are not concerned with the escalation then that would be another discussion.

Now the GM's may agree but obviously that would be based on potential. But to my point there is no GM in the league who coul look at Cam's stats and think anything different based on those stats.

There is literally no way that you are not trolling with that bolded comment.

If you have something against him, which it seems like you do based on past posts, that's on you. But all these absurd statements you make mean exactly dick, because only a handful of jack wagons out there agree with you, and most of them are bigots. So enjoy that company.

This is very simple.

The team that is willing to pay Cam the most money dictates his monetary value in the NFL.

If we want to keep him we have to pay something close to that value for him to want to stay. If we don't when he becomes a ufa in a couple years he will leave and still have taken up a large percentage of the cap.

Our best bet is to offer a long term contract with Cultler level pay well before he could hit the open market.

My biggest worry is that his agent will demand top dollar because we have a small market resulting in fewer endorsment opportunities.

I know some of you disagree with how the NFL market works but you must realize that in order for that to change we would likely see another war between the owners and the pa which would probably lead to a lockout.

Besides, that's not the point of the thread.

so the stats say different? bold that!

If you want to know how I feel about Cam ask.I am not basing comments on who would agree or not. Do you just go along? It seems like you do based on your past posts. My absurd comments based on Cam's stats VS. yours based on emotion. HMM let's see...Can one can disagree without having something against someone or is that against another of your pithy sayings?

So now the bottom line is I am a bigot? OK desperation rears it's ugly head.if you don't want to discuss my points then don't.

If you want to start a thread about Cam's production, go ahead. We are talking about a future contract based on Gman stating Cam is a franchise QB.

again overpaying is not his value. I don't think just because a team is willing to go all Leroy Jenkins for Cam that that is his value.

If you can look at Cam Newton's full production, and contributions through the first three seasons, and only come away thinking "well that guy is definitely just a middle of the pack quarterback" then you are either mentally handicapped, or seeing only what you want to see.
